pull down to refresh

I’m one to look for the most bang for buck with what I do.
So for fitness I’m looking for the best things I can do in the least amount of time to get the best results.
What I have found for myself without a gym or desire to join one is the below
Sprint training - cardio and anaerobic Burpees for muscles seems to work all body is quick and very effective
Thoughts comments concerns?
And more importantly what’s your picks
Pushups? Pull-ups (if you can do them)
reply
I thought they would be covered in a burpee except the pull up I guess
reply
That's why you put a bar above you and add a pull-up to it. Oooh-wee!

Haha that does sound heavy.
reply
It would be at least 1.5x body weight on the bar so it’s recommended you wear a lifting belt

Yep

Don’t underestimate walking. If you have time getting 10k to 20k steps a day and watching your caloric intake will have you burning fat but keeping lean muscle mass.
reply
I found this has failed me I have been keeping my steps up over 10k not abusing my diet and yet have found I have fatty liver. I think the lack of some harder exercise is what I may be missing

I've been doing the carnivore diet for more than a year now. Outstanding health benefits and I'm never giving it up. I didn't have fatty liver disease, but a lot of people who do report that the carnivore diet fixes that fairly quickly.
It's also a lot easier and more enjoyable than counting calories (which I did for a while as well, with decent results, but damn, it's is not fun).
The carnivore diet is not popular with mainstream media and medicine (which is a good sign, in my opinion), but if you search on youtube for fatty liver and carnivore, you'll find lots of information.

Thank you I’ll check it out

You really got to track your calories and macros. If you can go get a DEXA scan and find out what your basal metabolic rate (BMR). Then track every single calorie you eat. The random snack or overeating during a single meal is very easy to do and can throw off your progress
reply
It sure can! I haven’t been tracking down to the calorie but I’m around 1500 calories a day
reply
That around 1500 could be 1800 very easily. Plus if you have a metabolic issue then you might need to do more than calorie check. Maybe track your blood sugars as well

Pushups if you don’t have any equipment

Push ups are part of a burpee ? Do you find they are better by themselves?

Squats are part of a burpee ? Do you find they are better by themselves?
reply

When training -I prefer to do a variety of movements because I find burpies boring. That and I enjoy doing them thought the day.
I thought I'd say squats because it is one of the best possible exercises you can do for your physical health.
reply
Leg strength will be huge into old age as a big issue can be falls so having solid legs and balance is crucial
reply
100 pushups a day! And 2/3 min plank.
reply
Is there much point in doing a plank if you are pumping out push ups aren’t they just a harder variant of a plank essentially
reply
If we are talking literally a single exercise then yes I would say burpees. If we are talking workouts then I would say HIIT work outs, which I will say more about in a post that i will make later this week…

Suspense!

Whatever you decide to do, do it a little bit without straining yourself, but do it every single day.
reply
That’s good advice
reply
I think deadlifts 100%
if you have zero equipment and don't want to get bar and plates etc, I would say kettlebell workouts. Don't take up much space and you can get a lot done.
If you are still super hardcore on not getting any equipment, then I would say weighted pushups. just pop on a backpack with some stuff in it and start going.
sprints or skipping for cardio
reply
Great suggestions
reply
Lol depends on your goal if you just want to be lean just eat well and do cardio, if you want to be jacked you'll have to do a bunch of excercises to work on each muscle group

Cardio without and strength training is not optimal as they each have different benefits
reply
I agree, but OP is talking about least complex/effort you adding more variables now, personally I do a mix, my cardio comes from soccer and I do strength training inbetween, and none of that matters if you eat like shit
reply
Yeah I want best results for minimum time and equipment. Go hard and go home
reply
Swimming

Honestly there isn't 1 workout that's going to effectively hit your whole body, especially from home. If I wanted to work out, from home, and effectively train my entire body I would do something like this.
It's bodyweight and it's scalable depending on your fitness level.

Nothing compares to running 🏃‍♂️

Running is great but alone not so good in my opinion people that only run seem to lack some muscle

Best workout is any in the sun. I do simple routines. Mostly stretches of the kind. But, pushups (diamond) ab work and thats really it. Eat well (mean, local, seasonal), get light and have a good life.

Love that . Grounding sun exposure love it

I think a long 8 mile run is one of the best workouts one can do. I also think it is about what you are trying to do with your body and what your goals are.
