Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
Now that we have a SN Saloon we need a SN beer

What happens when something is flagged?, is it sent to you?
reply
No just downranked. There is no queue. We don’t moderate. Stackers are responsible for moderating themselves
reply
Cool, so it's a bit like Zap=Upvote with varying weight, and Flag=Downvote with a single weight.
reply
Yep! We’ll make that clearer in a release soon

Howdy friends..
founds some old bitcoin private keys from 2013, not quite sure if that wallet has anything in it, or really what to do with it.
It starts of with 14 characters, a forward slash, 44 characters, a plus symbol, 62 characters (ish), a plus symbol, 8 characters, + then a string of characters ~120 ish, ending on a equal sign
anyone help point me the in right direction if I have something worth looking into here?
I think this wallet had 0.033 btc in it
reply
This was already answered here. Prior to 2013 was not a HD mnemonic wallet, so you would have to sweep that private key into any HD walleet, like Electrum.
But if you forgot it from 2013 until now... I sincerely think l YOU DO NOT DESERVE THOSE SATS, loser.
Bitcoin is ONLY for the brave and knowleadgeable, not for ignorants that do not DYOR and learn. But I doubt it you are the real owner of that private key, you are for sure a scammer.
reply
Damn I accidentally sent your dumbass 100 sats lmao
reply
Maybe try not being such a fucker right off the bat ShartCoin.
Are you're this upset because I got bought cheaper sats than you? You're really this mad because I have 0.033 BTC that I bought for $40 sitting in a .txt file and you don't?

An amazing video clip dedicated to all stackers here. Please don't zap it, just watch it and listen. It is with scenes from my youth (when I was a pussy Anakin) until I grow up and became the powerful Darth. that fights shitcoiners... with the music of amazing group Within Temptation
Enjoy! Anakin - A Demon's Fate Next chapter is... What Have You Done - on the same music theme...
PS: even if I would die (as Darth) I will haunt all shitcoiners...

Grassroots run by Rod and Odell at Bitcoin Park in Nashville happening today! A handful of Bitcoin Meetup organisers have travelled from across the country and abroad to learn about bootstrapping a circular economy and growing a third space.
reply
I'm seeing the idea of third spaces showing up more lately. Is this a new concept or have I only just started noticing it? 🤔
reply
We have been doing it for 2 1/2 years but I think it’s barely catching on because its the next evolution to meetup culture in bitcoin.
reply
I meant in general zeitgeist land. I've heard non-bitcoiners talking more about third spaces and how they're largely missing from the North American social diet. Love to see bitcoiners building their own :)

Out and about in Glen Etive, on the hunt for Red Deer. And maybe take a dip in the loch.
What are y'all up to today?
reply
Nice. Good hunting!
I was driving through Glen Coe and my passenger remarked; that’s a nice house… bit of graffiti, needs some work and TLC but could be really lovely and what a great view. Wonder who owns it?’ I replied ‘Jimmy Saville used to live there.’ ‘Oh. Really? They should probably raise it to the ground, remove all traces and plant a memorial garden to remember his victims…’
Not really a fixer-upper-opportunity I would want..
reply
Glencoe is amazing. I was blown away by its beauty driving through it. Is it really savills old house? Or did you make that up to wind up your passenger?
Saw red deer!!! And Highland coooos I was so excited!
reply
Stunning isn’t it.
Yep - best house in Glen Coe was his.
It is a beautiful part of the world…. Except for the midges.
reply
Wow! Maybe I don't like that house anymore 🤣🤣 knock it down and build something else there haha.
Yes. I have so far been breakfast lunch and dinner to the local midge population...

That's great! My beard went gray early. My 6 year old was upset by how old I looked. BTW I was old to have a 6 year old. I started dying my beard for her but I never kept up with it. Finally she told me to stop it. Her friends noticed that my beard was always a different color.
reply
I do not have the patience for that…. I don’t even have the patience to grow a beard in the first place!
Imagine there was a website for recommending entertainment/edutainment content.
Like people that like youtube channel x also like youtube channel y and twitter account z and nostr stuff here or podcast there etc.
Would you be interested in that? Which stuff would you be interested in? Would you be ready to spend 5 minutes of your time to anoymously recommend stuff?
reply
Depends on the quality of other users' input or overall vibes; I don't want to waste my time recommending good stuff on a site full of junk.
reply
What would quality be in this context for you?
Like finding lots of related stuff? Or finding one thing that is an amazing fit? Or like quantitatively having a recommendation for any given input?

For sats, sure
I can't recommend the Darknet Diaries podcast enough, for example :)
reply
Darknet Diaries is way too mainstream for what I have in mind. But you would type in Darknet Diaries and it would spit out other stuff that might interest you if you like that.
Honestly, it's just a rough thought atm, haven't fully thought through what the actual usecase would be or how to implement it. Probably some kind of graph algorithm

@k00b are you reading all comments from Saloon?
Today I wanted to buy some beers with the amazing sats received yesterday. Thanks you guys so much. Beers are inspiring me to write more. But I can't! As you know many times I suggested to convert SN account into a lndhub account so I can easily import it into Zeus or Bluewallet and use it as a normal LN wallet outiside of SN, in a grocery shop or something.
So I have to send out from SN, into another wallet, from there going to pay... too much hassle man. I want to pay my beers only with SN sats, directly.
As I suggested in other day, maybe a sticky post with "what stackers spend today their sats" and show some proof of payment.
reply

Are you specifically interested in LNDhub or are there other options that would also suit you? We mentioned some in this new ticket.
I haven't taken a good enough look at LNDhub and all other options yet, but making it easier to pay directly from the SN wallet is definitely on our list :)
I'll try to assess how much work that would require for a MVP on that after I fixed the potato quality of our image proxy + improved UX around it :)
If it's not much work, I'll do it immediately! Paying directly from SN would definitely be a great feature.
reply
I think SN should do something similar to what the guys at Alby are doing.
Alby is also a custodial lightning wallet, but they based their wallet on LNDHub, so you get all the benefits of it.
Here's some tech info from Alby-LNDHub that you can snoop and get inspired:
reply
The fact that SN account is custodial, it makes your life easier if you use a lndhub system for them. Also for the user, they can use any other app that can import lndhub accounts (Zeus, BW, Boltcard app and soon more maybe). So you don't need to bother with making a special app for this. That involves a lot of struggle and problems with stores etc
I know that SN node is using a LND node so will be a very easy integration, I think.

"what stackers spend today their sats" and show some proof of payment.
or
a. "what stackers spend today their sats" and show some proof of payment. b. "what stackers do today to earn more sats" and show some proof of work.
so we have both sides 😎 a good circulation.
reply
Bitcoin circulation is what matter most.
