Here is where my garage was early last year.
I did some of the work myself, but I had to hire contractors to do the bulk of the work.
This is what I ended up with.
This is all of my plates there's also some magnetic collars on the center of the tree to hold weight on the bar.
These are the rep x peppin dumbells that I just got and they are amazing. You can go from 10 to 85lbs extremely quickly and they can be expanded to 125 lbs.
I love doing hack squats and got this very shortly before my knee ran out of cartilage (womp womp) so it's collecting dust.
My adjustable bench, that I really love. It's heavy as fuck, but I like it.
The center piece is my squat rack with the rep ares 2.0 functional trainer attached. You can do literally everything with this. It's the best thing I've ever purchased.
My wife wanted an elliptical that she doesn't use, so it also mostly collects dust. 🀨
That's it all zoomed out.
I paid for all of this stuff before I got into bitcoin, so if I were going to do it all over again, I'd probably keep my gym membership, and save the money, but I have it, I use it, and I love it. So there's the full tour.

eh....if you use this equipment regularly then who cares....your "health balance" is more important than your "bitcoin balance"

I was going to the gym 6 days a week, so this mostly just saves time.

Curious what took out your knees... football? Are you still able to squat?
I've been sticking more to goblet squats and dumbbell lunges and no longer doing any heavy barbell squats. Main main priority these days is just trying to stay healthy and avoid injuries.
reply
Not sure what did me in but my knees started hurting pretty bad so I got a MRI and it's looking grim. I can't do squats, but I'm supposed to start PT next week, so maybe something can be done.

Hope you can overcome it

Me too. I'm too young for knee replacement surgery, so if I can't work around it, it's going to be a rough time for a while.

Just finished mine as well subsidized by MSTR call options I had in my RRSP I sold then took the cash out for optionality, enjoying life a bit (like the gym), and of course cold storage BTC.

It also is good to hold my hoodie after I get warmed up. 😎

Nice set up ! I think a home gym would be great especially if you can get the family out doing it together

This is wonderful. How much did all of it cost you?
I'm sure the gains are far greater than the investment.
reply
Probably about 10 grand worth of equipment. I'll use it for the rest of my life though.

It's too much money but it's all worth. I dream of such a home gym most of the time. Thanks for sharing.
reply
Yea, it's really expensive unfortunately. I've been lifting for 5 years now though, so I know I'm not going to quit.

i'd gladly spend some btc on a home gym if i had a garage to put it in :D

Hmm, I think over the long run a home gym is cheaper than a gym membership. For example I have been going to LA fitness for like 13 years now and probably have spent around $9,000. I know LA fitness is cheap compared to Lifetime, Villages, Equinox, etc - but it does add up.
Investing in health is key though!
reply
Vasa fitness was $15 a month, so it will pay for itself in about 55 years. 😁

Looks great. My buddy has done something similar with his garage. He put in a squat rack and has a bench, bike etc.
Did I read correctly that you are relatively new to Bitcoin?
reply
Yea, I started back June

That’s great and you found SN much quicker than most of us in our Bitcoin journeys.
You must be on the fast track.
reply
I get pretty consumed with the things I get in to.

I can tell by your gym. Not a bad trait when they are positive things like working out and saving in bitcoin.

very nice, i love all the extra attachments and things on the power rack. making me wonder if i could get some kind of attachments for cable flys that would work on my rack.
how much do the adjustable dumbells go up to?
reply
Mine go to 85, but I can buy expansions up to 125.
reply
that's pretty sweet actually, i was looking at something similar during covid and the prices were insane. how much did you pick them up for?
i have to swap out plates on the dumbells and it's a huge pain in the ass

I think the money is well spent. This garage is symbolic of your life’s work

Thanks. At least it gets used πŸ˜€

Now you gotta replace those bulbs. Working out indoors under blue light is kinda counter intuitive. Just get some red light (I recommend Gambared) - https://gembared.com/
