I m a newbie in BTC world. And i have noticed that around me when i talked about BTC: -Some friends do not want to hear anymore the word BTC, -My girlfriend is fade of my talking about BTC, -Some family, btc is just non-sense, -It s a scamm, -Some it s because you want to get rich without doing anything, -Be careful, it s dangerous, An on and on....
So i ve noticed that i did no succeed to share what is about to happen or what is happenning , a transformation of the society. And so now i only speak of it when i ve questions from friends/familly...
Is there any solutions on thoses behaviours ? or as life, each person has to do its own experience?
Your intent is noble and good, but shoving Bitcoin down people's throat because you have a big interest and believe in it usually bothers people (which makes sense to me. It's pretty annoying to have people kidnap conversation into the topics of their choice unilaterally).
Instead, this is what works for me:
  • In general terms, just wait for others to bring Bitcoin to the table. Maybe mention it on very few occasions where it is really fitting (ie someone explaining how his Chinese friend got his bank accounts blocked by the Government because of the wrong tweet).
  • Whenever people get talking about Bitcoin and say stuff which is either utterly false or not exactly right, I just ask them questions instead of telling them that they are wrong, should shut up and listen to me. If you are knowledgeable about Bitcoin, you can probably ask questions in a way that steers them towards the right thinking.
It's a marathon, not a sprint. We don't need to rush people onboard. Let's be gentle and seduce instead of overwhelm.

We all have that intent to share this amazing tool with people but as you know from your journey it challenges a lot of traditional thinking which is why normies get so freaked outt, they have to think for themselves and leave their comfort zone. I actually wrote about why people hate bitcoin the other day to ge tout some of my frustration as I continue to orange pill those willing to listen

Stay humble, shill lightly, stack sats ;)
Also you don't really ever have to mention Bitcoin... you can complain about
  • How personal inflation for many people is much higher than CPI.
  • How the money supply was inflated so much over the last couple years.
  • How the energy transfers around the world are getting broken this year.
  • How the dollar is not connected to anything tangible.
  • How in economy we need to have a clear price signal to give each other, otherwise we are in a mess.
  • How everyone is thinking only about short term satisfaction and they are going in the wrong direction in long term.
  • How it's crazy that people are getting de-platformed from being able to pay.
  • How so many people are excluded from participating in the global market.
  • How is China tracking the people and watching their every step and what that leads to. etc...

Often times, it takes some explanation of how our current money system is failing and has failed and will continue to fail, and the people to realize that before they start accepting the sound money principles of BTC and how it fixes our issues

I really appreciate those Messages, Thanks a lot :)

When the student is ready the teacher will appear. ~ Bhuddist proverb
But it doesn't necessarily work the other way around. If they aren't ready, nothing you say or do will likely change that.
What you can do is to focus some effort on gaining a further understanding of not just bitcoin as an investment or payment method, but a greater understanding of the concept of money and its history, the concepts of why bitcoin has no equal (e.g., Byzantine General's problem, network effect, scaling layers, etc.)

Shill lightly.

Money is a belief system. Much like religion.
If you believe that the best money will become the most popular money, then there's nothing to do but wait and educate.
Most people don't choose their beliefs. Rather they adopt the beliefs of the people around them.
Even those that do choose their beliefs might only make changes once or twice in a lifetime.
Identify those who are questioning money already, speak to them about BTC.
For everyone else, try to get them to question the money.

This approach won't work with everyone, but I was able to demonstrate how to use bitcoin as money to my sister in law, by telling her about Bitrefill, asking if she regularly used services like UberEats/DoorDash/etc, and sending her $30 worth of sats to her. I got her to install Muun, and stressed to her the importance of backing up her seed phrase, because if she ever built up a sizeable stack of sats/bitcoin and she lost her seed phrase to any wallet, that shit is as good as gone.
tl;dr: If you've got the funds, convince friends/family to test out buying shit with bitcoin through Bitrefill/The Bitcoin Company by sending them $20-$30 worth of sats. Just enough to buy a meal, a book, some groceries. From there, you can take the Alex Gladstein approach and talk to them about (hyper)inflation, and how it's not just impoverished countries experiencing it. Those of us in western countries are also clearly starting to experience it through central bank chicanery.
Whoops. "tl;dr" fail. Lol. It's just as long as the first paragraph.

If somebody doesn't want to hear what you're saying then they're not ready and you need to focus your energy elsewhere. It doesn't mean the people you're trying to educate are bad people, your girlfriend and other friends are still worth associating with and talking with about other things, but for Bitcoin you need to find other people.
You're fortunate that you've got SN as well as other communities to talk Bitcoin with people.

Bitcoin eventually unites people. We are at the huge transition period. We have now camp fiat, camp crypto and camp bitcoin. Everyday there are more people discovering bitcoin and left fiat camp to bitcoin camp. It takes time.

I found myself really hard to explain and convince some friends in the nearly 40's (millenials) to get at least some BTC. They don't care about monetary systems. They just believe in the USD.

Sounds like you've be "orange pilled." Nothing wrong with it, but as you spread the gospel, many will be apprehensive to your message. IMHO, the only way to convince or share your joy of BTC, is by example. Continue to stack your sats, bro. As society slowly adapts to digital currency, be prepared to educate others that will seek what you know and have experienced on your crypto journey .
