This approach won't work with everyone, but I was able to demonstrate how to use bitcoin as money to my sister in law, by telling her about Bitrefill, asking if she regularly used services like UberEats/DoorDash/etc, and sending her $30 worth of sats to her. I got her to install Muun, and stressed to her the importance of backing up her seed phrase, because if she ever built up a sizeable stack of sats/bitcoin and she lost her seed phrase to any wallet, that shit is as good as gone.
tl;dr: If you've got the funds, convince friends/family to test out buying shit with bitcoin through Bitrefill/The Bitcoin Company by sending them $20-$30 worth of sats. Just enough to buy a meal, a book, some groceries. From there, you can take the Alex Gladstein approach and talk to them about (hyper)inflation, and how it's not just impoverished countries experiencing it. Those of us in western countries are also clearly starting to experience it through central bank chicanery.
Whoops. "tl;dr" fail. Lol. It's just as long as the first paragraph.
