I was in Africa long time ago, where I stayed with a friends family. While he was gone, his brother showed me around. Many years later, I was in a train in my home country (Europe) and sat down next to a guy and said hi. Turns out, it was the brother, visiting his brother in Europe.
The fact alone that he has proven not to start wars all over the globe can be a reason to vote for him. That doesn't mean people think he's a good guy.

I am sorry, there's no excuse for this clown show of a press conference. The questions were spot on. You can't develop a model without understanding the subject. Or they could have just talked about what their models say, I hope they actually used them.

It's just the fiat system doing it's thing, I don't see a 'they' who are trying to do something, althought to many people this is a very attractive idea. It's a very complicated system with a lot of people in it with very different intentions and agendas. You could very easily make the same case that 'they' are trying to obstruct bitcoin from being a SoV by regulating exchanges.
At this point, the best thing is to just move out of the west for a few years, it's selfdestructing and history teaches us that people in power tend to do crazy things when that happens. I made that decision a few years ago and never regretted. I even sometimes use bitcoin as MoE for fun. Nobody bothers me about SoV or MoE.
I am not defining dark, it's about what people think when they hear the word. And what would 100 people answer if you ask them eg what the 'dark' side of the internet means?
Decentralised Exchange completely covers it. First words on bisq website: Exchange, Decentralised. Almost everywhere it is described as such or p2p exchange.
We have no disagreement about using tor being ethical, my point was about using smart language. Using 'dark' makes a totally unnecessary association with illegal things. This is the reason darkcoin changed their name, probably the only good decision they ever made.

Until most people save in bitcoin, spending is not important. After that, yes we will spend bitcoin, because we have nothing else.
It's called a dex or p2p exchange and it's important to use language like that. Sure you can use tor to access it, but you don't need to with most dex's (afaik).
To unnecessarily use the word 'dark' to describe something, is asking for the attention of burocrats to come in with more stupid laws and scare away some potential users as well.
Can you give me a tip for an article where the use of different profiles are well explained, what problem it solves and which not?
Seems like having one profile where the other profiles are totally hidden and only accessible through some button combination, would be great.
Monero exists to remind bitcoin that privacy is important. If bitcoin forgets that, monero will get a bigger slice of the pie, it's that simple. It's privacy without effort/skills, and that's still needed on the bitcoin network.
