Hey Shawn!
Welcome to the Nostr universe. Thanks for your very important work.
I recently heard of someone who went on a 100% carnivore diet for years and still had excess weight that didn't come of, he's now doing some other programs to get rid of it. Anything to say about that?
Well, reading alone doesn't do the job, you have to integrate it into your life. Probably the best book about that is 'Atomic Habits', it helped me a lot.
You SHOULD acquire knowledge and skills to get rich, it's great! Not to drive a lambo, but to be more independent and reduce stress. A very nice book to learn about money is an oldie: The Millionaire Nextdoor from the 90s. It's about how most independent people usually are driving a second hand car and live a good, but modest life . Real eyeopener.
My whole life is a collection of solving issues by just thinking simple and having great results. At first I was still sometimes influenced by eXpErTs, but that quickly wore off. The thing is, people love to make things complicated, they want to look and feel buisy, writing plans, evaluations, at least they're DOING something. Take a step back, breath and it will come to you.
Ridicule and humiliate is the way to go. I always thought this was not compassionate or friendly, but it actually works. It can snap people out of stupid things. And it's fun.
Wait till their fav shitcoin is down and send them this.
You haven't studied the renaissance hard enough. It was about freedom, working hard, saving in hard money, becoming wealthy and using that wealth to voluntarily support good artists. Read The Medici by Paul Strathern.
Bitcoin goes back to that. NFT's are just for degenerate gamblers, the opposite of the renaissance.
They have better demographics, are healthier, very smart and less hysterical and confused. And they can still recognize communism. They're gonna be fine.
Earn more, spend less.
The second one, although less important, is overlooked by a lot of bitcoiners. If you can't change your income in the short term, change your spending. You'll be amazed how much there is to win by implementing discipline and smart lifehacks. IT ADDS UP!!
It's inevitable, it's only a question of when it will collapse. The EU is a disaster and a complete failure, world leaders don't take it serious anymore. Most can't even spell vd Leyens name.
Smaller countries like Bulgaria are not gonna suffer too much from the collapse, actually they have probably net benefitted from the EU. Southern countries, Italy, Spain, Portugal are gonna be ok. Germany, NL not so much...
He disappointed me in the pod with Saif. The amount of times he took Saifs argument as a moral one (what Saif thinks is good) instead of a logical one (what Saif thinks will happen naturally) was embarrassing. It looked like he was triggered. Probably the fact that he's not half as smart as Saifedean.
Great piece. I have been so puzzled why people think AI is the solution to everything. In the past 30 years computers and internet only made the private sector more productive. During this time in the west, governments GREW in size where you would expect them to diminish due to higher productivity from technology. The state is an animal that can only grow until it pops, AI doesn't change that. Luckily, bitcoin will speed up that process and the big event is almost here. My advice: sit it out outside the west. Fireworks are great, but always keep a safe distance.
I was in Africa long time ago, where I stayed with a friends family. While he was gone, his brother showed me around. Many years later, I was in a train in my home country (Europe) and sat down next to a guy and said hi. Turns out, it was the brother, visiting his brother in Europe.
