I just got my first Ocean mining lightning payout (Bolt 12) and I am ridiculously happy! It feels like it was a long journey waiting for this, though it was not more than a week I guess. FYI, most stackers probably earn more sats per day than I got in three days of mining. (610 sats). Still, it's a start.

reply

It takes more time that others pools... but hey! Ocean is a good player so far! I love my small flow of sats.

The rabbit hole is strong with this guy.

Instead of step 1 and 2, you can click on the image, click on the three dots in the top-left corner, click on 'view original' and then copy the URL

I don't think this will work... It must be the original file. What you posted here and say "ricgh-click and save as.." is not the original. All the stego info was lost.

But is a nice and fun initiative :) you make people to use their brain and show PoW.

reply

Edited now, with instructions to save the original. This works, I tested it. The nut is extractable and still unclaimed!

reply

I think you do not understand.
You edited that image file on your local PC with stego.
Then you uploaded to a CDN https://i.ibb.co/...png. That means it lost all the stego info because you uploaded a copy, is not the original anymore.

reply

No, that hoster does not re-compress PNG. I took the checksum (sha256sum) of the file immediately after saving in OpenStego. Then uploaded to hoster. Then downloaded from hoster. Took checksum again of downloaded file. Checksum matches. Exactly the same file.

reply

ah ok that make sense.
But you can put also directly the whole nut string inside, no need for a nut.txt file.

It would be nice to have a menu where we could see all the entries from the @remindme bot.

reply
33 sats \ 4 replies \ @ek 12 Mar

mhhh, I think you rather want to have a filter in every profile for all conversations between you and them. So for @remindme, that would also show you all comments where you mentioned it.

reply

Not a bad idea, but wouldn’t that make it harder to find the feature? If I got it right, we’d have to go to the RemindMe profile and click some button? Wouldn’t it be more intuitive to have this in the settings, with an option to disable notifications for each item?

reply

but wouldn’t that make it harder to find the feature?

I think not in a significant way. You just need to open the filter dropdown once, be curious what 'conversations' means and click on it. It's just one click more if you're already in a profile which is good since I think this isn't a feature that will be used so much it should be more prominent.

If I got it right, we’d have to go to the RemindMe profile and click some button?

You would need to select a new option named 'conversations' in the existing filter dropdown

Wouldn’t it be more intuitive to have this in the settings, with an option to disable notifications for each item?

Not sure. Did you look in your settings first if we already had such a setting?

When we add features, we usually try to make them as useful as possible and not limit them (unnecessarily) to a very specific use case.

reply
Not sure. Did you look in your settings first if we already had such a setting?

Yes, I looked in the settings but couldn't find anything.

Your idea is generic and can be applied to other stackers, it's a good idea.

But it should be more difficult to implement. No? The way I see it, a simple query should be enough. With your idea, I think it would take more steps, since the goal was just to check the active notifications for RemindMe.

We'll turn private savings into much needed investment.

WTF does that mean?

reply
11 sats \ 0 replies \ @sox 12 Mar

I think it just means that instead of gaining a little % every year on your private savings, it will boost profit by unlocking new ways of investment already done by banks (interest)
I’m not sure of this but the tweet shocked me too at first, comments are already pillaging it but it was just bad choice of words, who’s her social media manager? wtf

reply

I don't understand. Are they going to pay a tempting interest rate to anyone who has savings and wants to lend to this new venture? And then go bankrupt?

reply

No. They will literally take people's money from a bank account and "invest" them into military arsenal...
Don't you remember what happened in Greece some years ago?

reply

That's what I thought at first. But it can't be, that's too aggressive and I don't think we're in a situation for that yet.

reply

reply

I'm not saying it can't be, but I don't think we're that bad off yet. I'm aware that the data isn't all public, but if you look at the 10-year interest rate, it doesn't look like we're in a bad place. Things can change from one day to the next, I know. You're very pessimistic ...
