TheRamblingThoughts: Saloon Ramble #1
Didn't make much progress on NRC (Nostr Run Club) today.
We were short staffed at work, so I had my hands full with the clients.
  • One of them kept trying to steal frozen hotdogs from the fridge
  • Another one blew a gasket because we wouldn't give him a soda
  • Had to write a bunch of notes and have hourly checkups with the other
Hear snow is hitting hard at midnight, I'll probably be walking home from the car when it kicks into gear.
Pretty good day tho.
Productive day at work, listened to some good music, wrote a bit on SN and Nostr.
There was a lot of buzz about cowboy credits today, seems like its a controversial topic, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out, but i'm overall bullish on Koob and Ek making great moves.
Got spanked in chess pretty hard today.
Tomorrow should be a pretty hectic day.
Need to start running again, but snow on the ground is a detractor. Need to get the MVP of NRC out soon
Thanks, Hustle

HFSP is a double-entendre.
One interpretation is a sarcastic encouragement to continue burning one's money on shitcoins.
The other meaning is delayed gratification to excess. If growth for the sake of growth is the philosophy of cancer, what is saving for the sake of saving?

There's a sat earning opportunity when providing SN without outbound liquidity for zaps. We pay up to 3% of non-custodial zaps as routing fees - meaning node operators can probably earn 1-2% of non-custodial zaps to non-direct channel peers by being a great first outbound hop from our node.

I don't know if you've already asked, but why does this happen? @ek @k00b

It looks like that's not yet practical. People will need time to accumulate a stash worth selling. I don't want to collect cc's piecemeal. I just want them to pay territory rent if the market value is low enough.
reply

It’ll be convenient to use for territory fees.

Spend em if you got em
reply
You seem contradicting yourself
So let's take it the other way... if I donate CCs to rewards pool, I will get sats next day?
reply
53 sats \ 4 replies \ @ek 5 Jan
If you did something that allows you to get rewards, yes
reply
So if I send sats to my defunct SN LN Address are converted to CCs. But if I send CCs to reward pool I will get rewards in sats... This is fucking nice laundering !
reply
53 sats \ 2 replies \ @ek 5 Jan
Sure, donate 100k CCs and see how much you get back in sats.
reply
Is not about that. Is about the broken logic of SN. And laundering involve a cut anyways...
reply
20 sats \ 0 replies \ @ek 5 Jan
It’s exactly about that because you’re not telling us who should get paid how much when you donate. That’s why it’s called a donation.
I'm telling you, Darthcoin, the system has been flawed to the core. Logic was chasing them, but they were just too fast.

You pay me. Then I do whatever the fuck I want with that money since it’s mine now. At some point I pay someone else and I decide who that someone is and how much I give them. This is not money transmission.
You give me your money and tell me to give it to that person over there. I walk over there and hand them your money that was never mine. This is money transmission.
I cannot dumb it down any further.

Interestingly, sometimes you see things or opportunities that locals don't see - I met a girl while visiting a museum today ( she works there ), and after a bit of conversation, I was like why don't you move to where you'd like? Then she said because she can't find a job there, I was thinking to myself, then I would create things there.
I feel that's one of the main reasons stopping most people from moving to where they'd like, other than the stupid visa things.

There are enough competing pharmaceutical companies that would be happy to sell you a cure to undercut their competitors and enrich their stock prices.
Just look at what happened with Hepatitis C. The pharmaceutical companies made tens of billions. This used to be the most feared complication of needle stick injuries in the hospital and we no longer worry about Hep C because it's been cured. It's plenty profitable.
reply
Hep C has been cured? I had no idea.
Most if not all pharm companies have financial assistance programs if insurance doesn't cover their drug and there is no generic equivalent
Big Pharma is greedy but they are not callous either
reply
when one cures meat, one prepares it for preservation by drying, salting, etc.
in the case of common inflammatory diseases, the commercially available lab-made drugs are curing the body by suppressing the inflammation, so that the body's natural immunity ignores the toxins and poisons. this is how people end up dependent on the pharmaceuticals - as soon as the "curing substance" is withdrawn, the body starts rotting and reacting again, because the poison is still there.
there shall be more toxins dumped into the ground, the food, the water, and the air, until people beg for a "cure as a service" by subscription. their bodies will be similar to the cured meat; this is a mummification of sorts, but of a living body.

Does dehydrating have similar benefits?
reply
i have not explored the benefits of the "dry fast" and the rationale behind it. i do think that before one attempts a dry fast, it is probably imperative to flush out as much toxicity as possible from the body thru sweat and urination; that is, drink high-quality water until the urine turns clear (and sweat is not salty maybe?), and stop taking in low-quality foods.
if you are asking specifically about drying food for preservation, i am really interested in dry-freezing foods that my friend is attempting to make with the freeze-dryer machine, which is supposed to produce food with a really long shelf-life and light-weight. a simpler product is something like biltong.

Yup, went from incredibly painful, unsuccessful and intolerable interferon treatments to a several week course of pills with pretty much zero side effects. The drug companies were able to get it priced it at the cost of administering and managing side effects of prior unsuccessful treatments, to the tune of ~$1+k/pill.
They were making $10B/year although the market is now shrinking. This all happened in the past ~15 years and was pretty amazing to watch. We pretty much don't think or care about Hep C anymore.
There is plenty of money to be made- problem is finding cures is hard. If you find a cure you can't just sit on it because some other company can do the same eventually and steal your moat and make billions.

Read:
... and the list goes on and on in many discussions on SN in the last year. but yeah people are muting me... their loss
And I will say it again: it doesn't matter if SN is using CCs and sats and why they took this decision. It matter if people will fucking learn once and for all how to use properly the LN.
Is SN move a mistake? Yes. And on top of that is cowardice. Nobody threaten them with anything but they took apriori this decision instead of having fucking balls and say NO. That is the most that bother me, not because people are pushed to use LN nodes (that btw is a good thing and some will learn more) or CCs.
The whole idea in this mess is that Bitcoin is DEFIANCE, but SN took a wrong turn.
reply
@DarthCoin One for the collection?
reply
Education sure has gone downhill, hasn’t it? Do you think any BTC education would take with these creatures?
reply
in computer terms, these creatures are programmable, and currently living on a faulty operating system that is bloated with malware. so almost anybody can be reprogrammed. however, they cannot be approached directly but thru someone they trust and look up to.
reply
I think only informing them is the only way. Reprogramming is what the state does.
reply
the deprograming, removing false ideas, is a monumental task. it is not enough to teach about bitcoin; one must also teach how to clean up the body, how to filter information, how to pick trustworthy people... i personally cannot handle such a task with the unbegun dumb sheeple - however, i am willing to search for and teach the charismatic educators in the communities, who have more patience and a decent following.

reply
I found the gif with "laughing darth" around on internet, some time ago and I save it. Is funny.
I saved the video. Amazing stupidity.
reply
It is a very rare show of stupidity!! However, you have to think: how many of those interviews did they have to do before they had enough idiots to put into that video? They could have done hundreds of on-the-street interviews to cook them down to the ones we saw. Although, I have to admit, it looks like the number of idiots/100 people looks kind of high! This is not good for anything, including whole civilizations.
reply
And after the massive vaccination inoculation with foreign substances more sheeple are dumber than before... Just look around and you will see people that were quite intelligent few years ago, but after they got the jab they got dumber.
reply
after they got the jab they got dumber.
I agree. Sometimes I wonder at the cause. Do you think it is more the biological factors having to do with the jab itself, or the sociological programming that these people continue to allow themselves to be subject to?
reply
I think it might be both! The jab contained all sorts of strange unique nano features that react well with radio frequency emanations. So, they might be altering the mode of peoples thoughts and giving them a pro-state bias. Thus, becoming more amiable to the propaganda we are constantly being bathed in. Either way, it is not a good thing for them.
Both. People are so dumb. The bad thing is that the damages are not even started massively. We will see more damages in the next generations.
This will be a fortune...
I have to agree with that! I see it all over the place. My family dodged that bullet because I am a bit hard-headed about state interventions into my life. I am happy to say that no family has suffered the side effects, but I have had good neighbors die from over jabbing. It is really sad to see them go.

bitcoin is the uncensorable distributed digital accounting system, which is blind to the ethics of man, and thus blindly recording both the stupid and the smart transactions or the evidence of both good and evil, for the entire world to see. what is to be done with such an accounting system is still up to the rational man to decide. what is certain is that ur actions on the timechain will be accounted for, so bitcoin wisely.
