pull down to refresh

Wow! I was harvesting rosemary about 10 hours ago. Picking the needles off of the branches and etc. I washed my hands twice and still have the rosemary smell on my fingers. I love the smell and taste of rosemary but this is ridiculous! It is still pretty strong. I think I will be waking up tomorrow to the bright fresh smell of fresh rosemary!
woke up with garlic oozing out of my skin, my nose, my fingers.
Less nice

Were you harvesting and peeling? Sounds like you may have overdone it.
reply
Nope, just threw two cloves on the oven-cooked ribs.
No idea why my body threw a fit over some garlic 🧄

Was it the super strong version or a milder version. One will put burns into your mouth and the other just tastes good. Are you allergic to it? Or did you eat something that reacted to it?
reply
Not that I know of.
Also, no clue about strength. Just a regular garlic from grocery store
reply
I have no clue, either. Perhaps it was just a fluke. Some garlic cloves are very different from others—-like very hot. But, it sounds like you had nothing special. I have no idea of what may have happened, it has never affected me that way.

What do you intend to use the rosemary for?
reply
WOW, we use it in soups, stews and baking bread and meats. I just can’t get enough of it. The best rosemary is the rosemary you raise yourself during a good season. The smell is hard to beat, except for the taste.

Sounds yummy! おいしいですね

I can’t do hiragana or kanji on this thing. But, yes, very yummy. I really like the piney smell and flavor. It really does a lot for a plain kind of soup.

Lavender is a great harvest item, too.
Rosemary is very nice also.

We grow rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano, chives, onions and catnip. The catnip makes the perfect stuffing for cat toys! We are interested it trying some others next year, too, but the season here is rather short and the soil (under about 15cm is nothing but sand.

Just finishing the harvesting of the dried thyme. This is another great one! The smell and taste of freshly picked thyme is indescribable! I love loading this one into soup and stews, too.
