Trump will end it before inauguration day. They need to compromise on both sides. Both parties will not get everything they want!
reply
Ha! You know it was funny hearing him say he would get stuff done even before he takes office. That guy takes the cake.

I get why statists support war. No point in debating with them really.
Here's what I don't get. Maybe someone can explain it for me.
Ukraine and Russia both have conscription. This is slavery. Its evil. The US has done it as well. I often hear about how determined the people are in Ukraine are to defeat Russia. With all due respect, here is my question.
If public support for the war is so high, why is conscription required?
If the Russian people are in massive support for the war as we are told, why is conscription required there?
Conscription is a state tool to force men into war. Men that would never choose to fight for evil men killing men they have never seen and have done nothing to them.
If you value human liberty how can you support conscription?
reply
No head of state values human liberty we belong to them and are cannon fodder to serve their bigger purpose, how would want to volunteer for that? War is a racket and the people on both sides pay the price

I find it very hard to believe that this man isn't a puppet for the US state department(deep state). This is based on the nonsense that went on with the State dept during Obama's admin.
The neocons are deeply embedded in state and they are still fighting the cold war. This war machine needs wars. Putin is an evil ruler, no question. It just seems like the US is preventing peace/compromise/discussion for the sole purpose of the benefit of the US war machine.
It has been said by US politicians that this war is greatly benefiting the US mil contractors / our economy. This was one defense when there was push back on the cost of the war.
The US did this in Afghanistan against the USSR. The CIA funded the "freedom fighters" to bleed the USSR. It worked quiet well. That is until the monster they created turned on the US on 9/11.
The victims in this conflict are the plebs in both nations. We have to get out of this black and white, bad guy, good guy mind trap. When it comes to nation state warfare there is almost NEVER a good guy. There are bad guys using the brave soldiers as fodder for their empires.
reply
stop peddling Putin's propaganda
reply
Is that what you really think this is? Are we really that far removed from intellectual consideration?
From where I sit, almost all I see is propaganda. Mostly from the west. I'm seeking to understand, not excuse. FWIW

Which propaganda is better?

What is the best case scenario for Ukraine?
reply
I would guess that they lose control over the disputed territories.
It really blows my mind that so many people do not see how there is no way they can defeat Russia. Now, if NATO escalates, sure but then we are talking about WW3. I'm sorry, that's a nonstarter for me.
I know governments are corrupt. The US is amazingly good compared to many. You cannot tell me that Ukraine's government is not full of corruption. The fact that they have been told this by NATO in the past should be enough.
These two countries need to learn to get along, but I fear the US is just using the Ukrainian people like they did with Afghanistan. If that is true, its incredibly evil. This is also incredibly evil when you consider Europeans will be the first to suffer. The US is way off on the other side of the world. It is just so wicked.
It really feels like that jerk you probably know that starts fights. He knows this big bully's trigger. He triggers him to attack. Then he backs off and lets someone else take the hits.
In this scenario there are two bad guys. The bully, and the instigator. That is what this conflict looks like to me.
reply
You just described basic US foreign policy, rince and repeat people don't have enough attention span to notice the never ending racket. They will wake up when conscription will be back, oh wait it is already back
reply
Afghanistan is a good example but the two situations are completely different
Afghanistan was defense and home field advantage
Russia is familiar with the terrain in Ukraine and Ukraine is playing defense and offense
reply
For sure. That wasn't my point. My point was motive. Not battlefield.
reply
I know. I understand.
I completely forgot about Afghanistan until I read your comment
