Great writing. This and your last post are pure gold bitcoin.
I must admit at first I wasn't convinced with your writing skills (been lurking in the BTC space for quite some time) but it's really great now, and I consider myself hard to impress. I do a lot of geoarbitrage too -- the funniest part is now my fiat-minded, nationalistic friends always say how I shouldn't be moving around places -- just to quickly start criticizing how stuff doesn't work in their own country.
One question, where do you find good, affordable people willing to work for sats? I've tried here and a few other places; it didn't went terrible but it wasn't great. I heard good stuff about Twitter but I just can't hang in that platform for longer than 5 minutes.
reply

reminded me of cool slang in Turkish : kedi uzanamadığı ciğere murdar dermiş, meaning when the cat can't reach the meat thus says it's bad. πŸ™Š
where do you find good, affordable people willing to work for sats?
I normally find the good ones first and then pill them, e.g., Upwork, instead of hiring from Bitcoiners, because the pool is too small; I don't use Twitter too. Also, it depends on what kind of ppl are you trying to hire?
reply
Try looking up the term "jurisdictional arbitrage".
reply
aren't they the same meaning πŸ‘€
reply
No are not. Jurisdiction means you put yourself under somebody else authority. Geoarbitrage, you avoid all that above.
reply
Geoarbitrage, you avoid all that above.
Geoarbitrage it's so much better and fun too; Jurisdiction sounds need to deal with many paper work and unpleasant ppl. πŸ˜‚
reply
That's what the arbitrage is for. You avoid dealing with taxes and other nonsense, by doing things in the places with the fewest restrictions.
reply
that too, all I want is a peaceful and happy life, other fun along the way are bonus:)
reply
More or less. I just thought if you weren't finding what you were looking for, you might find more with the other term.
reply
Define the term "jurisdiction". But without consent.
reply
The term doesn't matter, what really matters is knowing what you want and be smart about where to get them, and don't being limited or scared by the imaginary borders.
reply
meaning of the words is very important. Did you know that this fucked up world is using two types of words?
  • the regular dictionary that all the mortals used to think is the only one
  • the black law's dictionary, used only by the "justice" system, that is totally different in meanings of the words, exactly to fool the mortals.
When you are judged, you are not judged using the regular dictionary, but the black's law dictionary. REMEMBER THAT !
reply
Did you know that this fucked up world is using two types of words?
indeed.
that's why I like to use simple words. πŸ˜‚
reply
The lack of consent is sort of the point.
Arbitraging is an attempt to be subject to less coercion.
This is great creative thinking and an awesome lifestyle you’ve built! Thanks for sharing. I see more of this in the future.
reply
thanks, and I would keep sharing my new found fun too:)
reply
I think this is a possible next step for me, maybe somewhere in South America, maybe Europe. I've been thinking about it for a while, but not seriously planning for it just yet. There are a few roadblocks at the moment, but the time will come. Thanks for the share!
reply
maybe somewhere in South America, maybe Europe.
try with small tests, and avoid going to any popular places - finding those unexplored is more fun, it's like you are the font explorer, thrilling!
reply
The small tests is key! Thanks for that. I have individuals that depend on me so that's the biggest challenge, but not unsurmountable. Just have to get creative!

Yeah lots of challenges here that might make boring for living. But if someone really like to experience rich vibrant cultures, beautiful scenery, and delicious cuisine then it's best here. Not only in Penang, food is awesome everywhere in south :)
reply
Yeah lots of challenges here that might make boring for living.
no, it's actually the lack of culture shock that makes things boring, I'm from Asia too.
But if someone really like to experience rich vibrant cultures, beautiful scenery, and delicious cuisine then it's best here.
maybe don't be so sure saying something is the best until you've really been to ALL places, as there are quite some well-kept secrets out there. πŸ‘€
reply
Not to be cynical but this is all possible thanks to nation states and borders.
One day you hate on them then you post something like this that indirectly praises them by acknowledging the differences that directly benefit your life.
While nation states do evil things like war. This is highlighting the positive side of humanity being different and protecting those differences with imaginary borders.
reply
If I will take you and put you on a island, I am sure you do not know what to do alone, by your own, you will invent a government or a state just to tell you what to do or to "protect" you....
Unbelievable how nowadays people cannot think outside the state... they cage themselves.
reply
False I know my limitations. Besides being a nomad doesn’t advance society. The more people that understand we all need each other the better.
What the state tries to do is stop psychopaths from destroying everything and everyone

Spending a strong currency in a country with a comparatively weaker currency is a hack nowadays? Really?
My parents regularly go to Thailand and are always amazed at how "cheap" stuff is over there, questioning why it can't be like that over here, too; but that's because they have a weaker currency, and the population is poor(er) in general.
I don't know, I feel like it's wrong though. You're essentially profiting off of someone else's shittier situation.

Or bringing them more money in their shittier situation and thus helping them. And not only money..

I simply see it as a form of exploitation of someone else's situation, must be a morals-thing.
reply
121 sats \ 4 replies \ @Lux 4 Apr
So it's better to not help them at all? But who is the "exploiter" here, did you devalue their currency?
reply
0 sats \ 3 replies \ @Fabs 4 Apr
You're trying to make a point by going all-in on the "we're helping them" argument, but fact is: people don't think nor care about whether or not we're "helping" them with our consumerism, or not. That's it. People go there because it's pretty and cheap, not because they wanna do good.
reply
110 sats \ 1 reply \ @Lux 4 Apr
I grew up in a shittier place than western standard, and if it wasn't for westerners coming here because is pretty and cheaper, my standard of living would be much worse. I get your msg, but it's not that simple.
10 sats \ 0 replies \ @Fabs 4 Apr
And no, I didn't devalue their currency, neither do I profit off of it.
You are not eliminating fiat from this fucked up world if you continue to use it. STOP using fiat and you will see another world.
