I've been an audio engineer for over two decades, working in music and audio post. I also own a music publisher, where I represent a roster of independent artists and songwriters residing in different parts of the world. Of all the things I've dedicated my life to, I've had the longest affair with music and writing. I'm here to talk about music, the business of music, building community, and how to sustain yourself in the creative path. I'm sure I'll stray from this list every once in a while.

Welcome TresD. Sounds like you have a lot of wisdom to share. Look forward to reading some pointers that carry over to other disciplines, particularly staying creative, inspired & avoiding burnout.
reply
Thanks David! I inevitably dive into those types of topics only because it's the path I'm on. If I speak on what I live, it tends to resonate more easily with others also. I see you're working from, or at least posting a lot about Uruguay. Latin America is a huge interest for me also. It's actually where the majority of the artists that I represent are from.
reply
That's bang on, so many can relate when it comes from a place of self-reflection.
If you ever head-out this way and want to slow things down a bit, please do hit me up. The East of Uruguay is an amazing place to rediscover and recharge, although the bulk of the music is from Argentina / Colombia / Puerto Rico / Brazil these days. Curious which genres you mostly dabble-with, or is it a wide spectrum for you?
reply
Thanks for the invite. I've not gone further south than Colombia just yet. As far as genres, pretty wide - electronic (pop / ambient / darker), retro rock, tropical (merengue, bachata, cumbia), folkloric from Colombia, Lofi Hiphop, blues, R&B.

Welcome and Aloha from Waikiki. Selfishly I will suggest to consider do some postings on B2B, and BooksAndArticles @siggy47
reply
Hi! I assume those are territories. I'll check them out! Maybe this is a question you can answer - Can you only create new posts in territories? I see that under my bio there is a box to write more, but would that just add something to my bio page instead?
reply
My personal opinion (humble) is experiment, if your trying to make some business contacts B2B, if your discussing audio technical issues, I guess that could go as close as possible to a territory that you feel is logical.
Being very open i don't get a lot of "action" on my B2B but....I have gotten actual business leads that different people have referred from that territory.
If you have small quantities of audio items you want to sell maybe try @AGORA
Sometimes just jumping is progress, Aloha Brother
reply
Heh! Just jumping in is right. Was just about to post an audio tech thought in -culture- (closest I could find,) but now I'm learning that each territory has a specific sat price/post.

@Public_N_M_E runs the music territory. I am sure he would love to hear some of your stories and insights.

Thanks for the suggestion! Just wrapping my head around all the lingo, and/or where to post things. I'll get there!

Hey tres, I'm the guy GR mentioned. If I can help you then I will. 👊 Swing by the daily Discussion Thread in ~Music or any of the other posts and see what we're about. Check out the pinned posts in that territory aswell, might find some of them useful 👊

Thank you! I signed up for notifications from the territory, but I'll def pay attention to those you pointed out as well.
