Namaste, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I never expected this question to trigger a so deep conversations here, am so glad you're all taking the opportunity to introspect and check your own processes.
Addictions, from my experience are driven by habits, good or bad they could be, the hardest part --once the neurological connection has solidified-- is to replace it with a new one. The long that habit has been in use, the harder it will be to defeat it and replace it with another one.
Maybe I'm simplifying it too much, I don't believe at all we are machines that can be fixed or adjusted. But sure is, we are in control and power to design and orchestrate the life we want to later achieve it only with patience, resilience and perseverance. One step at a time, as the good @cryotosensei just reminded us.

i believe more and more that meditation and yoga have something diferent compare to sport, art, reading ... I believe meditation and yoga help you to rebuild, reconnect neurons, change the vibration of your cells and etc.... But my believes can not confirm for the moment as long as long i did not finish my learning path via meditation and yoga. I hope soon, i will be able to write about it on Stacker.news

You'll be surprised how, even crocheting made a housewife the wiser person in the room, able to teach life lessons to others with a simplicity that no one could have expected. I asked her, where did she learn to speak like this, what was her school... her answer was just astonishingly unexpected.
Yoga and meditations are done with the aim to deeply connect with mind and body. Sport too, martial arts too... reading too, the greatest artist are the ones able to connect and express through their medium of choice, whatever it may be. It's all about embracing the flow!
One of the reason I created this territory is to let everyone know there's a creative potential on each one of us. If you allow me to use the term, democratise design. Creativity isn't a gift, it's something need to be cultivated to obtain certain results, like anything else in life.
Looking forward to reading your writings soon

Just happened to read in a Reader’s Digest that knitting engages our brain in focused activity, which by default helps us become more rested. Maybe it’s a sign from the universe to ask me to pick up knitting or crocheting haha
