Hi! I wanted to ask you what is the difference between Bitcoiner and Bitcoin Maxi. Does Bitcoiner have to be Maxi?
A bitcoiner is just anyone who holds bitcoin and understands bitcoin beyond a superficial level. (If all you do is hold bitcoin in a custodial account and don't know anything about how it works or why we need it, you don't count as a bitcoiner, sorry).
A maxi is someone with a particularly oppositional stance towards cryptocurrency other than bitcoin. To be a maxi, I think you can't just be suspicious of other crypto, you have to have to be evangelistically opposed to it. That's my take anyway.

I liked how you explained how you perceive Maxis
reply
I'm not evangelical at all. I just don't have the time or inclination to care about thousands of shitcoins. So I'm a maximalist for the sake of simplicity. Maybe I'll miss some amazing opportunity? Fine, I'm willing to take that risk.
reply
okay thanks :)

This is retarded as are you. First, you are wrong -- there is ZERO requirement of understanding to "be a bitcoiner" and being a bitcoiner in a strict sense means very little, just must use bitcoin.
You are someone who does not understand Bitcoin monetarily, which is rather simple, and only through severe retardation can you fail to understand it. There is nothing extreme about this, therefore, the idea of a maximalist is a false slur.
I am a bitcoin berserker, which is to say that I understand bitcoin, and will take great pleasure in the destruction of fiat. It means I am more human, and am able to think through higher order effects, but this is not required to understand bitcoin.
I think a better term for people who don't understand bitcoin and have idiotic thoughts like perpetuity of fiat after decades alongside broad use of bitcoin that is well understood in the vernacular: retard.

The difference between a Bitcoiner and a Maxi is about a year of bitcoin study.
reply
Sounds like the right natural progression! Ha

Here's my take. It doesn't matter. Don't worry about labels. What matters is what you believe, know, and most importantly what you do.
reply
I like your comforting tone & sense of groundness
reply
My take are that these are just an early stage label. When Bitcoin has spread to a similar size as the internet, there will be no bitcoiners or maxi's.
reply
We'll move on to an age where there are "bitcoin enthusiasts" and "everyone else". Even things that are seemingly mundane always have enthusiast communities :)
reply
Agree. It just shows how early we are right now! In the future there won't be companies who sole business model is promoting Bitcoin or taking donations to do Bitcoin related things. That would be like someone starting a business to promote USD; it just doesn't make sense. Eventually bitcoin will just become the unit of account that everyone uses and there won't be any more bitcoiners or maxi's.

I'm not the best person to judge... ;) but I do my best in bithub.pl comments to point out, that shitcoin clown show is nothing more than pure money grab.

Yeah, people were rather a bit surprised by inflation level, after happy printing fiat in Covid lock-downs out of thin air. I would say that real estate market was and still is the most popular escape route from fiat pathology...
reply
In my opinion, the adoption is quite weak. Unfortunately, in my area I haven't heard anything about bitcoin. Maybe because I don't live in any city. Under Polish tweets I often see people writing that bitcoin is a scam. As for the word bitcoin, most young people know what it is, but don't know how it works and don't use it.
As for the sites, I'm unlikely to mention more than these 2 than someone has given here. Personally, I do not follow the Polish community, but sometimes I watch a youtube video, usually related to the crypto market. I do not watch any bitcoin maxi but people who love bitcoin but not limited to it.

You should try our 21 community!

I'm not maxi 🤣

There are popular sites... but crypto, none bitcoin-only. Same with youtube and most of the communities. Bitcoin scene is rather weak - but there is quite strong maxis community, I am organising local meetup in few cities and there are some really good people.
Adoption? Lot's of Bitcoin ATMs and kantors (local exchanges), but almost no businesses accepting BTC, the law makes it too complicated.
Lmk any more questions if you have
reply
Yes ATM's are a lot but in big cities. Cantors can already be found in smaller ones e.g. cantors from kanga exchange.
