I do not personally use this tool. @javier wrote #970139
You've been at this a long time, and on net have made no money. Money isn't all that matters, of course, and I'd be interested to hear what keeps you at it.
Initially, it was the idea of making a boatload of currency with little to no investment (visions of grandeur). We both know that didn't happen. Then it was the idea of figuring it out. I have used YouTube, bought a book, and read articles/primers (@DarthCoin). All in the idea that my node could become better.
What have you learned, at a high level?
LOL. To me, this is a good but funny question. I default to the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. This reminds me that there are many ways to make currency in this world. The only thing that slows you down is your creativity. It ok to fail as long as you keep trying.
What's interesting? What do you understand after all this work that other people don't?
Interesting...hmm...everything! The one thing that I understand that most new node operators don't is that it takes more than a few sat's to grow a node. The information is out there and free for the taking. Learn and take action.
This is the main reason I use LNDg. The one feature in Lightning Terminal I liked but did not do the math on was the handling of Loop In/Out. I feel these both play an important role in managing a node.
I've read articles and opinions on channel management. I think it was @DarthCoin who also said to incorporate MaxHTLC to aid in channel management. Any new thoughts or change in philosophy @DarthCoin?
What I am saying is buy for the region you live in. I like https://www.solosatoshi.com/.
This seems tricky. Is there documentation for this cycle change? Unless there is a switch, isn't there a possibility that it will run slower and overheat?
I looked into Lightning Terminal and found that it does not handle negative inbound fees on channels. Maybe I missed it. LNDg does not seem to have a big impact on my node's resources. I'm running an I5 13-400P w/64 GB RAM.
My first post was @anon. Took me more time than a min to figure it out. This was a few days ago. I’m still not sure if I got the wallet thing done.
Congrats!
Lol, now to figure out this platform. Wallets are a bane. I have not ventured outside of my node in some time. Time to expand my horizons!
@DarthCoin is always providing a great value-add when it comes to information and resources. I truly appreciate it. Yes, I did click on your profile, and I'm working my way through the recommendations for the noob.
OMG, I'm such a noob. I couldn't figure out why I could pay the 2 sats, which is why it took so long to reply to everyone. I had my node min at 10 sats.
I do use LNDg to manage the node. What is lit? Do you have information on the swaps and other things (bisq2 robosats)?
I bounce back and forth between zero and one. lol. Some of the ones with fees that are higher offer a minus base and inbound fees. This allows for a transaction to occur with little to no cost while supplying the sat's for the channels that need them. It's as slow as rebalancing, but another option/tool I keep working.
