You've been at this a long time, and on net have made no money. Money isn't all that matters, of course, and I'd be interested to hear what keeps you at it. What have you learned, at a high level? What's interesting? What do you understand after all this work that other people don't?

Initially, it was the idea of making a boatload of currency with little to no investment (visions of grandeur). We both know that didn't happen. Then it was the idea of figuring it out. I have used YouTube, bought a book, and read articles/primers (@DarthCoin). All in the idea that my node could become better.
LOL. To me, this is a good but funny question. I default to the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. This reminds me that there are many ways to make currency in this world. The only thing that slows you down is your creativity. It ok to fail as long as you keep trying.
Interesting...hmm...everything! The one thing that I understand that most new node operators don't is that it takes more than a few sat's to grow a node. The information is out there and free for the taking. Learn and take action.
