I've given the Fountain podcast app a try a few times (including the 1.0 new release) and there are still a few things that hold me back from switching over. My current podcast app of choice is AntennaPod and I run GrapheneOS for what it's worth.

1. No ability to scrub forward or backwards from lockscreen.
2. "Skip silence" mode seems to be enabled by default regardless of playback speed. There is no option to turn this on or off (this is probably a bug).
3. Can't set the default page on open. Would be great to set it to library, or even go straight to latest episodes, as an example.
4. Would be great to have the option to show podcast thumbnails, rather than specific episode thumbnails when viewing the library. Makes it easier to tell what's what at a glance.
5. It's not open source - I know this isn't a real complaint and the Fountain team know how to run their business. This is personal preference especially given it's build around Bitcoin/LN.

It's a great player otherwise. Maybe someone will find the feedback helpful.

I noticed this too. It seems to eliminate silence by default with no option to turn it off.

They are likely batching. Slightly different commercial model where they have a fixed and percentage based fee for both opens and closes. It seems they are taking a strategic approach that smooths out the fee spikes.
