I did listen to both Darknet Diaries and Hardcore History for hours during the summer and autumn. Thank you for recommending both!
Through bitcoin I mustered up the will to become a parent at a relatively young age.
It was a combination of hope for the future and also Trace Mayer dropping a comment that it is the most intrinsically fulfilling endeavor for a human.
So, no, I'm not at all the same person. 3 kids now.
Cheers, stackers!
The HN post comment section looks just as expected https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42324263
I read this trilogy a few years ago. The level of criticism of the Chinese government that was tolerated in the books exceeded my expectations.
I'll give this a listen. Thank you.
This was a thought-provoking post. Thank you.
did Samourai make a mistake of semantics or is this the inevitable end of Bitcoin?
The answer is yes and yes. Their mistake of semantics accelerated their fate but it has to be the end of Bitcoin as the current governments around the world see it. Our best hope to counter this is that Bitcoin "captures" and "corrupts" the governments officials to such an extent that in the future, actions such as these will have too much resistance internally to happen.
Saifedean, because he's the most toxic and will not hold back.
Jeff Booth is overrated. He does not have much original ideas. I read his book and I was not impressed. Reading the Bitcoin Standard, or Broken Money (or her articles), or listening to Saylor or Andreas leaves me with much more to think about
Is there a difference in size between sending from a P2SH to a bc1, comparing to sending from a bc1 to a bc1? Why?
I'm a rather young father of 3 and I agree with this.
We started a family in a 31 sq m apartment, later moved into a house.
Another point is that I would not focus on finding the right one, but rather someone you think you will be compatible with long term. I've had crushes, and bad ones, and I've been in relationships where I was in love to the death. But that does not necessarily mean it works out long term. Looking at facts is better. I believe a lot of humans are compatible, and able to live together forever.
A side note is that Trace Mayer is the one who inspired me to become a dad at a young age. I hope he's doing well
It would increase their revenue
The increase would be, for a block thar AntPool mines just after their own,
(Block total fees) * (AntPool share of total hashrate)^2 * (time to get new block and prepare new template) / (10 minutes)
And that would always be a template that is valid.
For any previous block whatsoever (not mined by AntPool) we remove the "^2". But then, it's not a guarantee that we try to include already included TX. In this scenario they should try and mine TX that are further down in the mempool queue and thus have a higher probability not to be included in the block just mined.
Anyway, for the first scenario the number is around (I'm guessing some numbers)
2 * 0.25^2 * 5 sec / 10 min = 0.002 btc = 200 ksat
Per block (all blocks even the ones they don't find)
Now that I calculated it... It's actually very significant.. why don't they do this? I guess they will start doing it now that the fees are so high. It will take some work but seems definitely worth it to get a 200k * 1/.25^2 = 0.032 btc increase in revenue from blocks that they do find
I run ~50 miles per week and have done maybe 15 marathons.
Drinking sufficiently becomes increasingly important when you go above ~10 miles in a race. Eating as well. You have to get used to it.
I recently ran a 50 mile trail race in 8.5 hours. Then I drank in total 6 liters of sports drink and ate 2 gels per hour, along with some candy bars. This is a pretty standard amount.
Pro marathon runners don't have to eat much, because they spend so little time out anyway. The slower you are, the more you will have to drink and eat
