I can't contribute to you directly here but for all the commenters that say we need more "diplomacy" and that's on the west and their fault (EU, etc) then I can just say how can you negotiate with a guy like Putin.
"There are no plans or intentions to attack Ukraine." He went on to say, "There is no reason to fear some kind of escalatory scenario."
A google helps.
I think there is no way around to tax unrealized capital gains... I just don't know how it could work.
But so much misuse is done with it. It would make the world a much more even and fair place if unrealized gains would be taxed.
Well we can't really, that's a shame... Anyway I'm quite OK with these ordinals tbh. They keep miners happy and make Bitcoin more scarce. And they are infrequent enough not to be a nuisance.
Even in high fee times (not count 2 days prior of course!) I'm quite happy to move 0.1BTC at almost any fee rate, unless it's heavily UTXO-laden.
For smaller amounts, use L2.
I dare to agree and disagree. While we can see the global UTXO numbers, we've seen a modest increase of UTXO on our side because we use lightning quite a bit more now.
Consolidation itself does require space on the blockchain and going overboard with consolidation helps exactly nobody.
So yeah, I think your advise is good but should be taken with some consideration in respect to usage of L2 solutions and keeping a "healthy" UTXO rate.
I like how they say "including social security numbers" of 2.9b people. Well MINE didn't get stolen, ya know, I'm not a US citizen.
2.9b, everyone we know should be in this list ... let's go diggin'
I’ve posted this on Nostr before but with the Indonesian rupiah on a never ending decline I wonder what the idea of the government is.
Hodling is not illegal but apparently you are not able to make payments as it’s deemed illegal.
However I really wonder how this is really handled in practice. Bitcoin can be used as a barter, is it then illegally as well? Are not able to swap motorbikes against food if you wanted to?
I did not a receive feedback from bitcoin house Bali. Silly me, just been there a few days ago but realized to late they exist - could have visited them up and speak in person!
honestly it doesn't really matter.... there were always ways around even your node didn't have it on by default. plus for those people opposing it, that ship had already sailed. you could never trust a transaction in the mempool getting confirmed or not.
Keeping the feature out did not lead to any more security in having transactions guaranteed than otherwise. I have, on occasion, unpublished a transaction (still possible with bitcoin core I guess when you add config settings) and I have on a different occasion double spent because of my initial fee was way too low and no way to raise it.
we were thinking of accepting mempool only transactions if the fee were high enough and the amount was low enough but we never did. with the advent of L2 solutions (mostly lightning) this is even less of an issue now.
wow I wouldn't have thought that Pilots and flight engineers would be that high up ... I wonder if these are all "professionals". (as opposed to hobby pilots ...)
