Whitlock’s big idea is making the NBA a reality TV show. Think of it like hard knocks. His idea stems from all of these players having social media and podcasts. The NBA can monetize all of this content and drive people to be engaged with the on court action. He gave an example of Rockets going on the 3 game skid and team chemistry being broken because Amen Won a 20k hand of cards on the plane against Jalen Green thus causing the locker room to split.
He also has the fans, former players, etc. ranking players at the end of the season based upon their on court play and off court behavior and leadership. Where the players are ranked will determine how much money they make. He thinks this will break up super teams because team can only pay its top ranking player the most.
This is strange and gimmicky. It would probably work ok, but I doubt you could get the players or owners on board with it.

Yeah I agree. But I like the idea of getting access to behind the scenes. Player engagement about practice and trials and tribulations of being an NBA player. The workouts the nutrition work life balance.

It's clever. I suspect the owners would take a "yes and" approach and want all the content on top of 82 games.
