Is there a single nice article that would explain how Cowboy Credits work (with a nice diagram :) ), maybe with example to show the conditions when CCs are used and when sats are used?
Shouldn't it be linked from FAQ and from the /credits page? I tried checking these usual spots, but I didn't find any good description. I saw the "What happens to the sats in my SN wallet on Nov. 5th? ... Nothing." post, but that doesn't really explain how it works and why it's good & needed.

I feel like this CC thing is like when they replaced gold with paper money.
Here we see something similar to the real world, good money and bad money... obviously we can use the bad money (Cc) for expenses and small things, but we will look for storage priority for the good money (SATS).
In the case of SN, use your (Cc) for your comments, publication fees and some generic Zap.
and the ***(SATS)***⚡ you will use them when something or someone really brings you value.
and you will receive them when your work or comments bring value to another. and this other person makes you a real Zap ⚡.
And at the company level, SN no longer handles third-party funds. Only some (Cc) that are something fictitious that only has value within the platform. At the regulatory level, they will no longer bother you for using bitcoin. Here, Bitcoin will circulate between individuals in a P2P way without the intervention or management of SN.
And on the other hand, I think that the use of (Cc) is good, because that will scare away the Assmillkers who only come here to collect SATS. without any real contribution.

My first 2025 failure. After trying an honest effort my skills and education aren’t good enough to break into the chaincode BOSS class. At least I know I won’t be wasting their time with my stupidity.

Those are good goals, but you may consider an even more basic goal, which is getting basic command line / git proficiency, if you don't already have it. Everything you do in the space will require that stuff, and there are tons of resources to help.
I am pretty comfortable with command line. Playing around with LN nodes and learning Linux increased my confidence with CLI. Now git is a whole other monster. I used to watch YouTube videos on git but I never grasped how it truly works. I am hoping option two will do git for dummies so I can grasp the basic concepts
Yeah, git is a mindfuck, even more if you want to really understand it. If you're one of the those types, I recommend this tutorial. You can probably get competent enough without it, but for me it's v important to understand what's really going on underneath everything, which is not a strategy I necessarily endorse, but one I can't kick.

Another problem. I tried to create a post in sports. It prompted me to pay an invoice instead of pulling from my attached wallet. I tried to pay it with my Breez wallet which is showing paid but did seem to register on SN as it is still showing pending.
Update it went through after all.

Blink is the easiest and the fees weren't as high when I first attached it. I don't know if SN small zaps has a say in their increased fees.

No, if sender and receiver have an attached wallet, we will try to use real sats first
Lightning network is an ocean, liquidity and fees change all the time.
Base fees hurt more for small payments. Basically every payment on lightning has a percentage fee on it (like 1 sat per 1000 sats) + a base fee (usually 1 sat).
For example, Phoenix takes 4 sat + 0.4% for every payment, see here.
It's a free market, so yes, wallets can do what they want. You're a customer and you have to vote with your feet.

I don't think the "wrong" will happen on the SN side, but more on the users side.
SN did the transition very smooth and nice without any interruption and I am not worried about how SN will handle the zaps.
The problems will start on the users side.

One important thing that was REMOVED (so stackers cannot see anymore) was the in/out wallet movements. There was very clear where the sats are going and how much you are taxed.

Quick question. If I have cc in my account because someone zapped them to me but I know you have an attached wallet if I zap them to you will they convert to real sats and get withdrawn or do they stay cc. If they stay cc shouldn't there be an option for whether you want to spend sats or cc?
CCs stay CCs.
We prioritize CCs by default whenever you pay SN for anything.
When you zap, if the recipient can receive sats and you can send sats, we prioritize sats. Otherwise, you zap CCs.
@Undisciplined just zapped my reply and I got cc but he and I are both using attached wallets.
I haven't received sats to my attached wallet for 38 minutes.

maybe there was something wrong with one of your wallets (you or @Undisciplined).
did you check the logs?
If both have a wallet, sats will be sent.
If sender or receiver does not have a wallet, CCs will be sent.
