Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
Translation: What did you say? What did you do after "2-cha"? You say you made a declaration? Context: "2-cha" means "second round", i.e. the bar one visits after a meal to consume alcohol. Very common habit after company meals, dinner with friends, etc. Also has a connotation of "Netflix and chill" when you say it to a girl, depending on the context (not here, obviously). 3-cha, 4-cha,... are the next establishments one visits after 2-cha. Those also can have a sexual connotation when going to a "gentleman's club". There is a rumor that President Yoon met his wife at one such club, but there is no proof for this.
Context: people get bombarded daily with stupid warning messages about the weather (too cold, too hot, stay inside, hydrate, etc), trash bags with feces from NK, etc... but somehow this time, no messages were sent, for something arguably much more important.

I'm bothered by how many bitcoiners are parrots for influencers. Using influencers as a source of truth instead of thinking for yourself is a great hack ... until they stop telling the truth.

Yeah, just picture all the political influencers out there that were taking money in trade for their influencing! Their trust is totally evaporated, hard to ever retrieve.

Anxiety awareness is a gift. We all experience some form of anxiety. Comfort, non-anxiety, is mostly a product of familiarity. When you begin consciously experiencing your anxiety, you can stop reflexively seeking comfort and the familiar. For free, the price of discomfort, you can do something new.
reply
You don’t need to get as far as anxiety, you can go for just discomfort. Once you leave your comfort zone, you get to the gloriously new.

Can someone tell me how a capital gain for Bitcoin may be taxed?
Do they have a specific day to take the photo and say the price? What happens with all transactions in between? the new french rule is crazy and wrongly applied.
Bitcoin is currency/property/commodity. It is all. No tax should be charged.
reply
It will be taxed any way THEY think that THEY can tax it!! It doesn’t matter the damage, the inconvenience, the imaginary money they think they are taxing, they will tax it. Both you and I and probably everybody else here thinks it should not be taxed (just like fiat), but to THEM we do not matter, for we are just tax cattle (chattel).
reply
It's bullshit. to scare the shit out of clueless normies and noobs. Only losers declaring their BTC stash can be fooled and those keeping their BTC in a CEX.
Self-custody and never sell back for fiat - that's how you fuck'em'all.
Bitcoin is currency/property/commodity
No. Bitcoin is NOT currency. Currency is money by gov decree. Bitcoin is simply money. Yes, you can say that is property too, but only in self-custody. Know the difference between money and currency, are not the same.
reply
That is already known, but companies are buying BTC legally, and unless BTC is accepted you won't be able to use BTC to spend it.
So, If i decide to declare that I have BTC, how can possible be taxed just for a market price? I can say that this is not what I am willing to sell. Anyway. The whole thing is crazy.
The only solution I see to this intention for countries to tax it, is that more countries declares BTC as legal tender.
reply

you won't be able to use BTC to spend it.
Watch me. I convinced multiple merchants around me to accept my sats for anything I need. From 2018 ongoing I pay everything in sats, p2p. And they are happy to continue, no matter what.
Those who do not adapt, will be the losers. If those companies that are scared about this crap shit want to give away their sats, I will be happy to take ALL OF their sats.
countries declares BTC as legal tender.
That is a total bullshit. Bitcoin cannot be legal tender. Saying that it means you do not know what is "legal tender". It is debt. Bitcoin cannot be debt.
Every time I hear people talking about "X country will declare Bitcoin as legal tender..." I just laugh. They have no idea what is legal tender.

What is a "legal tender"?

Any retailer or individual could refuse to use a legal tender. Nobody can force you to use it.
Why? What is the point of a legal tender then? The point is that you cannot force a retailer to accept legal tender or indeed any other form of tender. If, however, you buy something from them and there is no contractual barrier to the use of any form of tender, and you offer legal tender in payment, and they refuse it, then they cannot enforce the debt in court.
That's what legal tender means: it's about discharging debts. If you incur a debt you can discharge it with legal tender, but you cannot be forced to incur the debt in the first place, if you see what I mean...

Heads up stackers...

This assmilker LowK3y19 is trying a sneaky method to grab sats from the SN rewards, by posting meaningless comments on old posts, sneaking under your nose. Just look at his history...
He's a low level shitcoiner pretending to be a bitcoiner. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Thanks for the warning, there isn’t much to be done if he is going into old posts and zapping is there? Perhaps locking out the zapping on old posts would work, wouldn’t it?

Use nostr to login. Second method to login is LN-auth (almost any LN wallet can do that). Any other method use it as backup login. Using SN on desktop browser is easier to login with Alby browser extension or nos2x extension that keep safe your nostr priv key and with just one click you login.
All these keys keep them safe into an offline password manager.

I'm doing it through Albyhub and it hasn't been working for a while. Something to do with some LN payments that didn't clear, but no way to sort it out within Albyhub.
Hopefully they'll push through the new release and it will sort out these issues.

Open proposal for SN / @k00b

I think the actual SN system is flawed to the core and will only attract flies to the shit, makeing it slowly a shithole. I do not want anymore to see how the sats I am paying to post on SN are going to these assmilkers. Please consider removing entirely the daily rewards and the leaderboard. It only attract flies. Not just opt-in feature but for all stacker, by default.

No rewards, no leaderboard.

Only pay to post. MAKE THEM PAY. The incentive will be exclusively in p2p zaps.
Also make the ranking gained in a territory to be valid ONLY in that territory, for the rest of other territories to be 0. In this way, assmilkers if they want to zap each others and rank each others, they can have their own territory. For more you post in that territory, more ranks you have. But could not use the ranking gained fraudelently on other territories. If they want to have their own circle jerking territory (assmilking club), so be it, let them assmilk each others until they get drained.
Or better remove all ranks too.

How SN would be financed?

SN can be financed from the cost of making posts and comments. Also from a cut from territories posts and comments. Boosts and ads, jobs etc. Raise the cost of those and will be even more sats for SN but less for the assmilkers. Who really want to give sats to assmilkers, so be it, will give it from their OWN pockets but not from SN pools. You will see then how they run like rats.
reply
You could post the names of all the assmilkers and their circle jerks. That way people who are paying attention would know who is whom.

I have to agree. SN is a great community, but there are a few people who consistently post the same stuff over and over again. They are just abusing the reward system. Once the rewards are gone, only the people who actually care about SN and its growth will stay.
