Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.

Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!

We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!

This is off-topic @DarthCoin, but I am looking for a method of DYI making an electronic cold wallet on a usb stick. Do you have any recommendations? I also posted this in another discussion.

Really productive day

  • Filled out onboarding documents for the Part Time Job
  • Wrote another article for the npub blog
  • 1st Ultrasound appointment with TheWifeHustle
  • Knocked out a days work at the fiat mines

The Nostr client I'm attempting wasn't playing nice with the amber signer. But discovered its working with chrome and not duck duck go. Sharing to nostr was broken, but now it might be fixed. Once I get Nostr Login, Posting to Nostr and the Run Tracking crisp I'll release it into the wild.

Next up will be cooking dinner, giving the dog another walk, cleaning the kitchen, and taking a nice shower before chilling with TheWildWife.

Looking forward to writing more, coding more, creating more nostr content, creating a cool shopstr store, stacking a bunch of sats through two jobs, and taking care of the house.

Before I found bitcoin I was eating twizzlers and twiddling my toes while watching cartoons and playing video games in my mommas basement.

reply

We all have to do our part to keep buying all that bitcoin Uncle Sam is putting on sale. Don't let Saylor and Fink scoop it all up.

reply

If only we could form a coalition to do that kind of thing.
They will start making paper bitcoin instead.

reply

It's a good idea, but would probably be tough to implement.

reply

Yes, it might be hard.
But it would be worth it.
But it might make the price move up a lot because we would be shorting them.

reply

I don’t want to rehash the rewards algo debate but a simple adjustment that might work is requiring anyone who zaps and doesn’t comment or post to spend at least 1k sats to be able to qualify for rewards.

reply

I don't understand how he staked 829 sats during the day if he didn't do anything. Where did they zapping?

Their last interaction was on November 24th

reply

The 829 sats stacked was likely the reward payout from yesterday.

reply

Its simple. As I proposed it yesterday here #789857
And this will fix a lot of other things also related with the p2p zaps and self-custodial wallets.

  • remove the leaderboard
  • remove the daily rewards

I will add also:

  • make the ranking gained in a territory to be valid ONLY in that territory, for the rest of other territories will be 0. In this way, assmilkers if they want to zap each others and rank each others, they can have their own territory. For more you post in that territory, more ranks you have. Or better remove all ranks too.
reply

I don’t mind removing the leaderboard. I don’t think removing daily rewards is good though. I would like SN not to have to finance the rewards pool though.

reply

SN will be financed from the cost of making posts and comments. Also from a cut from territories posts and comments.
Raise the cost of those and will be even more sats for SN but less for the assmilkers.
Who really want to give sats to assmilkers, so be it, will give it from their OWN pockets but not from SN pools. You will see then how they run like rats.

reply

Why don't you zap yourself here as well sick man?

Whinning again.

reply

dumb ass you are... zapping to yourself is meaningless. You gain nothing and also you pay fees.
I do not use sockpuppets accounts like you. I am not going so low with that crap. Shit like that is only for shitcoiners like you.

Snow Day!

reply

We had a snow day today and some pictures from the past snow days:

The lone picnic table and the lone ice fisherman were today.
The trees were on the road while traveling and down our street.
BTW, local news said that someone went into the lake and rescue teams were there not long after we took that picture. The ice was maybe 3 - 6cm thick.

reply

Nice. We live in a ski resort town. We get a lot of snow.

When I lived in the city and used to have to deal with traffic I hated when it snowed. Now I love it.

reply

The only reason I dislike the snow, especially the first snow of the season is that all the drivers seem to have forgotten how to drive on the snow! It is funny but the going is very slow. It is gawker heaven.

reply

That's great. My daughter was cycling through playing in the snow, drying off her winter clothes by the fire, and taking a warm bath all weekend.

reply

My son no longer loves the snow but my daughter still does. My son just said "snow already?"

reply

It's winter here too, but no snow yet. Hoping for snow by Christmas.
Btw, this photo is cool.

reply

I can’t beat you here. We don’t get snow in this part of the world. There was a small snow shower 15 years ago. The previous in 1957, I believe.

reply

I really love these photos, can I use them as my cell phone wallpaper?

reply

Sure. I will post some better ones throughout the winter.

reply

If you please do, I look forward to the other photos. Where do you live, do you see the northern lights?

Very interesting "coincidence"... alias name and style of copy/pasting shitGPT articles

@IamSINGLE and @Imyourfed both are posting mostly on "Science" territory (the cheapest territory), just to build a trust and assmilk some sats from gullible stackers
https://stacker.news/IamSINGLE/posts
https://stacker.news/Imyourfed/posts

Stackers... be vigilant there are many like them here. Is very easy to find them, just watching into their bio and posting history.

reply

It is good to know that science is the cheapest place to post. Many reasons to avoid it, too. Scammers heaven.

reply
Scammers heaven.

They move around in the cheapest territories posting crap shitGPT articles, zapping each others to gain ranks and position themselves better in the leaderboard to get more daily rewards.

Is like the assmilkers club, see here: #791958

reply

I love the title Assmilker’s Club. It is a very apt description of what they are doing. Why don’t they spread out to the other territories? Is it just because they can assmilkers a few more sats that way?

reply

Because they go for low level territories where serious stackers are not subscribed to see their bullshit. I muted myself half of the territories, but I can go and see what assmilkers post directly from their profile.

Just looking at their list of posts and you can see the manipulation scheme, they work in packs and using multiple sockpuppet accounts.

The big problem is that they get some gullible other stackers to give them some pity reasonable doubt and they zap them few sats. But that is like feeding a cancer.

That's why I proposed to remove the leaderboard and the daily SN rewards so that will keep them low. They could get ONLY if somebody else really want to give them sats, thing that will never happen.

I am sick and tired of these scum.

reply

I played around a bit with fees. Went from very cheap to above 100 sats. I found the current fee to give the right balance between too much spam and no posting activity at all. I base that also on my personal experience posting in other territories where I will often look to post in an alternative territory when the most fitting territory charges more than 200-300 sats.

I also try to look as much as possible at the topic, rather than at the name of who posted, as the reason I made this territory is to aggregate articles from known science publications so that I can find the topics that interest me here rather than a variety of other websites. SN is more and more becoming my go-to place to read stuff that interests me, be it in science or other topics.

Now that ~science activity is at a decent level, I have also modified a while ago by own tipping habits (#776324). I used to automatically tip back the posting fee when a new post was not obviously spam or low-content stuff, but now I only tip the things that truly interest me.

reply

Good technique πŸ‘Œ

reply

I think that between the fees and the tipping habits, the scammers and assmilkers will start to recede. They never answer a comment.

reply

Ohh … I didn’t know that they ran in packs. I noticed that there are a few that don’t seem to answer any comments or put zaps on anyone in their thread. I have thought that some of the nyms are connected somehow, but can’t quite place who is whom.
