In a refreshing attempt to understanding animal consciousness and emotions, a group of researchers from various disciplines have come together to share their thoughts.
The research team was led by Dr. Marcela Benítez, assistant professor of anthropology at Emory University.
“As far as we know, this is the first assessment of how animal behavior researchers across a range of disciplines think about emotions and consciousness in non-human animals,” said Professor Benítez.
Didn’t we know this already? If you have ever had a cat or dog you would understand this, easily. They are quite expressive about it, too. Some farm animals also show emotion and consciousness.

One is to "sense" it another is to prove it 😉

I think this is a strange topic to be studying, seeing as how humans cannot even prove to each other their own consciousness :)

Lol, you nailed it! 🤣
Pity but true

They are looking for ways to detect and then control consciousness. Why else would states be paying well robbed money to researchers?

Could it be that to sense it is to prove it. Some science requires consciousness to sense consciousness, there are no machines that I know of that can do that. Proving something can be done with contradiction, too.

There's a lot truth in your statement
