If they make $120 a month and it is part time income, or a few hours a day that's one thing... But if they are the main breadwinner trying to live off that - that is deep below the poverty line. I'm curious how many of those women have husbands who generate the lions share of the income?
In the U.S. it is getting more even, but I believe men on average still take in the lions share of the income per family.
For women, it is like getting some extra income for family. Or, sometimes, this income may be the only source.
Though, it's helping erode below poverty line families but not very encouraging.
