I don't have a problem with the sentiment at all. As a criminal defense lawyer, I saw plenty of unfair treatment of minorities, and predominantly African Americans, both minor and major. They were my clients. My outrage is that this movement was coopted by outside forces and embraced by politicians who truly didn't give a damn about the real issue. Of course, the hypocrisy was at an all time ridiculous level.

This. All this virtue signalling annoyed me so much.
What annoyed me the most was people reading too much into words such that they wanted to change the default git branch from master to main and Github obviously supported that. There was a lot of individual discussion all over Github around this, here is just one example.

I feel the same way. I could just tell this guy was an old hippie with completely good intentions who would have no clue that BLM has been riddled with corruption and scandal, not to mention the widespread violence they supported and engaged in.

But is the level of discrimination and brutality the same as the 1970s and 80s ?
Plus we have DA who acts like a public defender. Being a public defender in New York must be a boring easy job now.
