I saw a grown man wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt this morning. He was perfectly amiable, but how clueless must you be at this point to be wearing that?

I don't have a problem with the sentiment at all. As a criminal defense lawyer, I saw plenty of unfair treatment of minorities, and predominantly African Americans, both minor and major. They were my clients. My outrage is that this movement was coopted by outside forces and embraced by politicians who truly didn't give a damn about the real issue. Of course, the hypocrisy was at an all time ridiculous level.

This. All this virtue signalling annoyed me so much.
What annoyed me the most was people reading too much into words such that they wanted to change the default git branch from master to main and Github obviously supported that. There was a lot of individual discussion all over Github around this, here is just one example.

I feel the same way. I could just tell this guy was an old hippie with completely good intentions who would have no clue that BLM has been riddled with corruption and scandal, not to mention the widespread violence they supported and engaged in.

But is the level of discrimination and brutality the same as the 1970s and 80s ?
Plus we have DA who acts like a public defender. Being a public defender in New York must be a boring easy job now.

Remember when Lebron was pretending to read the Malcolm X autobiography?
Oh Lebron. Just admit you carried it around for photos.

I missed that, but I'm not surprised.
He recently said that he would have been a chess master if he had ever learned how to play.

They took some photos of him walking around purportedly reading the book, sitting in the locker room reading the book. Like he was so into it that he couldn't put it down. Then when a reporter asked what he liked about the book he said "all of it" and the reporter pressed him and then he said "I just started it" but he was walking around taking pictures with it for two days.

He gets caught up with his media perception. Kobe was similar but he didn’t carry around books.
