Which of these devices do you prefer to play video games on and why? In my case I stick with the Playstation, I have had all the consoles of this platform since PSone and I have become enormously familiar with it. However, I am also a Nintendo player with the Nintendo Switch and other previous consoles of the company, but, I still prefer Playstation, I also play from time to time with the PC, but I do not use it specifically for gaming.
Which one you prefer and why?

Nintendo Switch when I do play (it's been a couple years) mostly because it's the only console with titles that still support couch coop.
reply
It's true, most PS games right now are single-player because they prefer each player to pay their money separately, it's all business and it's a shame.
On the contrary, Nintendo Switch games tend to have higher prices, at least that's what I've noticed, and prices tend to drop a few times since the release of their video games.

PC
No contest for me! I dislike the tradeoffs of controllers in regards to precision and speed, and normally only use them for driving games that don't use wheels and playing old console games. I do own a Steam Deck, and the haptic touchpads are actually fairly usable as a mouse, so I like that to. I still consider it a PC though.
I also like the massive variety of game options available, as well as the extra horsepower a good PC has. Basically none of the modern console exclusives have really impressed me anyway. Plus, I can use my computer for a lot more than games.
reply
so you mostly play on Steam Deck? Or do you play on a PC other than desktop?
reply
I meant to say I own a Deck as well, sorry. I built a fairly solid gaming PC a few years back, and that's primarily what I use. The Deck is what I use for portable gaming around the house, and I have a few laptops that have decent iGPUs that I use if I'm on a trip or something.
reply
None of the above. I kinda outgrew gaming--but especially the expense.

PC! The keyboard & mouse experience is still the best for FPSs...
reply
I share your opinion, in controllers, there is nothing that beats the PC.

I used to be an xbox person, but then I became a playstation person when my buddy upgraded to ps5 and sold me his ps4 and games for $100. But now I am a nintendo switch person because my kids got that for Christmas from their grandpa and I just love the convenience the console being mobile. It's a great feature.

Yes, just lying on the couch, bed or wherever and playing your favorite games is a luxury, I think PS is about to release such a console as well.

I haven't gamed in years, stopped at PS4, Wii U era, lol I don't know where I had all the time to game, now I can hardly watch a YouTube video or stream a movie. I really liked the Nintendo games, just because they prioritise fun and obviously a sucker for nostalgia, while the PS came in handy for those open world games like GTA, Witcher and Red Dead

I guess if you barely have time or are focused on other things you won't even think about playing, I don't play much either, like 2-3 hours a week, and to disconnect a bit.

Maybe Nintendo Wii? I think the new gen would prefer to have their mindless face planted in the cellphone screen.
reply
Agree, I think playing on the phone or just being on social media is more popular right now, I don't even think about playing on the phone.

I think it's a way to create mindless humans, or just to get young people killed off faster. One of the two or both.

I like Steamdeck and Switch personally. We have PS4 and Xbox series s too but they don’t get used much.
reply
So you have all 4 consoles at home? Xbox, PS, Steam deck, and Nintendo switch?
reply
None!!!!

I honestly prefer whatever has the best games. Right now it seems to be the switch, but every year is different. This is why I decide to buy all of them (and a PC) so I don't miss exclusives :)

Nintendo Switch and PC.
I play the Switch when I play with my kids and on PC when I play alone or online with my friends. It's been hard to find time to really sit down and play for a long session these days though, because of life being busy. But I try to squeeze in some gaming time every now and then.

I also prefer PlayStation πŸ‘ˆ

PS5 on the TV for exclusives. PC for various multiplayer games with friends. Steam deck for my single player games. I haven't touched my switch since I got the steam deck. I also have a raspberry pi that has emulators hooked up with my sinden light guns to play light gun games.
At this point I think unless Nintendo really wows me, or Sony gets it together, there is no reason to have a console anymore. This new gen has been a dud and PC+Steam deck seems like the perfect combo.

I like Nintendo games on Linux & Yuzu.
What I like about them is that they feel low commitment. When I put on a big PC game it always feels like it's a big thing and will take a lot of time in the next few months. But in Zelda or Mario it feels like I can mindlessly run around a little. Low mind hurdle.

Can you play hentai puzzles in playstation or xbox? Or can you sell drugs and guns to space ISIS for shekels? Or could you "try" the game in consoles? I can with PC and maybe Android phones due to TORRENT of options available, with time being the biggest limitation.
Also most linux distros don't require to tick any privacy policies or EULAs, which is awesome.

Sorry I forgot to add Steam Deck :)

Steam Decks are just PCs, so you're good.
