I made some of my own dairy products (kefir, yogurt) from whole milk, and baked my own bread, etc, from wheat ground at home.
It's far, far better than eating highly processed foods.
However, what I didn't understand until last year is that carbohydrates are damaging and should be eliminated or strictly limited. I'm 99% carnivore now for about 6 months. My health and energy level are much, much better than befire.
