Ratio'd (for the count of comments) the post with the direct link to the DoJ press release even. 255 comments for the SN link, versus 80 for the DoJ link.
Of course, not everyone on HN is happy with that.

Which, I would agree. For example, nobody wants to see a post here on SN that is just a link to a post on HN, which itself is a link to an underlying article somewhere else.
