I cannot get motivated today. I have lots of paperwork just sitting there. I am attending a funeral tonight for a close friend's daughter. A real tragedy. 35 year old woman with a 1 year old daughter. I represented her a few times. Kind of straightens out your priorities.

I want to confess something. My programming quality and speed has increased significantly since I let AI to help me. But it makes me feel dumb when I am tying to code something complex for an hour and then I let AI do it and it gives me a better solution in 10 seconds. I am sad and amazed at the same time. And it is just starting. So I think today I will concentrate in taking care of the hens and maybe planting potatoes.

This is his response (I edited it for length):

• If you have traumatized students in your class, you should do whatever the school's mental health counsellors tell you to do. There should be a specialist with specific advice and a specific plan for each student with such a diagnosis. • Note the difference between "trauma" and “stresses”.

“Trauma” is a subjective response to specific circumstances (experience of near death/permanent injury/profound loss of safety + control).
“Stresses” refer to most students' school experiences: getting a bad grade, or breaking up with a significant other, or being cut from the football team. • Teachers can help to manage stresses; they need to enlist counsellors’ help to manage traumas.
