You are hilarious! You motivated me to find out the reason for rotting bananas. Maybe I will use it to take part in Fun Fact Friday next week haha:
Most bananas in stores are subjected to ethylene in agriculture warehouses which jumpstarts their ripening and once started, they ripen much faster than untreated bananas. Due to the quick ripening those bananas don't have an opportunity to develop the complex flavors and sugars that slow ripening provides.
