Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!

We will experience a Libray of Alexandria moment again. The library had so much knowledge but it burned down and it was lost and had to be learned and written again from scratch. Same thing will happen with the internet. We have almost unlimited amount of information and knowledge available at our hands. But the internet will shut down sooner or later. Energy policy + the will and talent required to maintain the internet and its servers is going down for a number of reasons. It is what it is.
Last but not least Oil was first discovered about 120 years and we already used most of it it seems.

14 days, 2 weeks already, time flies.
Today is Chinese New Year, and I'm of Chinese descent, so I would like to wish all stackers here a healthy and prosperous year of the dragon.
Got my 100 in yesterday, 50-50. It was a busy day because I had to leave work early to drive my daughter to rock climbing, while my wife stayed home to prepare for New Year's eve family dinner. Didn't get to my second set of 50 until well after dinner, but it was done. Even got time to play some Luigi's Mansion 3 with my boys. Thanks for recommending/talking about the game GR. Great game so far, my boys and I all enjoy it; my daughter has no interest in it though.
50 down so far for today. Will get the rest done when I get home from work.

went to the bazaar today, I might see one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen - super big eye, a bit greenish, but its that long, thick and curly eyelashes caught my eye ( girls would love to have that ) almost like fake, like how's that possible? But then I looked at the mum, okay it makes sense.
I think humans are getting prettier and prettier with each generation, really amazed by how our body works.
And fun fact, you can play with other people's babies in Turkey, even as a stranger in the street! and Turks LOVE kids, even during this inflation or worldwide low birth rate, many people still get married and have kids, and the summer wedding season is insane, you can almost get invited to weddings every day.

I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully, the west will get back some of it's social trust and prioritization of family.

Sometimes i wonder if the concept of a king is misunderstood. The crown and the throne makes it seem as if its all about him. But what if the king never received his throne and his crown without dedicating himself to the people around him. Everything he does is not for himself its for the people around him. And thats why they gave him a crown and put him on a throne.

Do demonstrations have to be annoying? I know, I am to blame for living in the center of a city but damn, it really sucks that almost every weekend people want to raise awareness for some topic by screaming about it lol

If people showed real conviction and set themselves on fire or did a hunger strike I would give them my sympathy. If they obstruct traffic or destroy artwork they just end up generating enemies by reflex. It’s so stupid.

what's stopping you from moving away?
reply
My priorities. But I am planning to move out this summer.
Oh and I got an eviction notice last summer. My rental contract was only temporary but it was very bad timing and I realized the contract is invalid1 so I actually can stay here indefinitely. Now I am waiting for this lawsuit to end so I can get my money back. I also hope they'll pay me for moving out then. They did a lot of stuff where they just assumed there would be no pushback. Now I want to make them pay for it.
all signs point to me winning this case

Footnotes

  1. The contract is only temporary for study reasons but if that's true, they can't end a contract in the middle of a semester. Just one example what's wrong with the contract. ↩

Why libertarian's nightmare?

I don't know the details of your circumstances. In New York City the government imposes all kinds of crazy restrictions on landlords, and if they are not met, tenants get to live rent free. Evictions are barred. The free market is non existent.
reply
Ahh ohh, makes sense. I thought you were referring to the demonstrations with "libertarian's nightmare". And only with "landlord's nightmare" to my rental situation.
Yes, in Germany there are only very few valid reasons for temporary rental contracts. It's good for tenants but bad for the landlords. But living rent free sounds crazy πŸ‘€
If I owe the landlord a single cent more than the rent of a month, they have special rights to kick me out.

  1. Claimed natalia@cashu-address.com, zap some sats and receive in eNuts, smooth.
You can do the same here: https://app.cashu-address.com/, and don't be reckless when you do the tests! ( I had four tests and one failed to showup ) I'm still trying to figure out the best user case for this address, maybe I will test it in Nostr for a while.
  1. Played around with minting in LNbits.
Guess what! Everyone can be a banker now: LNbits - Cashu - new Mint, but you need to earn trust to be one, instead of asking permissions from any authorities.
What a time to be alive:)

Who would build the road?
Bitcoiners - they might even write you a map with all the tips and tricks, or even teach you how to build it; One of the things I really admire about Bitcoiners is how self-driven some of them are.
Toxic ( honesty ) from the outside but deep down really caring or even loving from the inside, yet most people are easily fooled by the wools in sheep's clothing...
