5k is the ballpark figure I'd start with. Or 25k for the full week. Like a boost but for much longer visibility.
But it does depend on what the purpose of it is. I'd be open to negotiating percentage based commission deals over fixed price rates.
Eg. My cut of income generated by SN music could be say 15% (plucking numbers out the sky) customers buying your product would be identifiable with a code like "SNMusic" or an option to select SNMusic from a drop down under the "where did you hear about us" question. I generate you revenue I get a cut of that. But that's details to be worked out, and very deal specific.
Why'd you ask? Got a little something something cooking?

Just want to do a test.
Would you rather I pin my stacker news blues song or my next episode of Sounds from the Great White North?
reply
I think creating engagement content, such as discussion posts like sounds from the great white north isn't suitable for pinning. (I know I pin the daily discussion, this is only to differentiate it from every other daily of the same name). But if it's a product you want to pay to get better visibility then that's for you to decide how you wish to market it and I am willing to provide the space for it. (Although I feel that kinda content should remain "free" to post for creators).
The song however I'm 50/50 on. On the one hand I don't want to rip anyone off paying 5k a day pin fees when they could utilise a bounty post to find musicians willing to work on it. But I also recognise that if someone wants the benefits the pin could bring, I'm not going to discourage that.
I think it's up to the individual how they see fit to market it. If the pin is the route they choose, then I feel that after a conversation to ensure this is the best option for the person and the outcomes they're trying to achieve, I would happily rent the pin for any advertising purpose. But for me, I want that conversation to happen to ensure the buyer is getting the best value the whole territory can provide.

The only issue with the "i am looking for a bassist" type of pinned post is stackers are all over the place.
I think people promoting their music or if someone has a music blog, or maybe a music app they want to promote. Why don't you reach out to the noderunners radio guys and see if they want to promote on the music sub.

Awesome idea. For the "I'm looking for a bassist" I'd really envisaged having a conversation with the person and helping them find the best solution which could be a bounty post over a pinned ad. But if someone's adamant they want it pinned, I'm not going to discourage them. Perhaps I explained my thoughts behind the pins usage poorly, but effectively anything anyone wishes to advertise and promote above and beyond the exposure a normal post and/or boost would achieve, I'd be happy to help facilitate. But I more see it for artists putting their own music front and center on an album preorder or release.
Perhaps in the future we'll have beats by Dre asking for ad space to SNs Music audience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's something I want to provide, but also something I don't want to waste people's time with. Which is why I feel it's important to have a conversation with a potential client to ensure I'm providing the best and most appropriate service to them that I can. I think the noderunners is an excellent place to start.

I realised I never actually answered your question.
Yes, either, whichever you'd rather promote as I'm only currently offering 1 spot.
However I personally feel that the sounds of the great white north content should remain "free" to post unless you're adamant you want it pinned. (By free I mean, normal posting fees apply, which you make back+some when I zap it because to me it's worth zaps). And I think the song might be better suited to a bounty post. But there's no reason you couldn't have a pinned bounty post should you wish to have it.

I will commit to buying a 5k pinned post slot but I am thinking I am going to donate it to a deserving musician. Give me a few days to sort out who should get the spot and coordinate with them.

Absolutely. That's really cool of you to kick start it off like this. I pinned ncryppt EP release the other day for a similar reason, to help budding musicians get exposure.
