All being equal, when choosing between a book that'll tell you you're right and another that might show you you're wrong. Choose the one that might show you you're wrong.
I am getting to a point where every book I read is something I already know or inherently do in relation to me benefitting from it in my life. I have now begin looking and listening to the younger generation now, as they have some really interesting ideas of seeing the world differently. I will put of list together of some interesting people on sn.
one that we both know is https://www.plebpoet.com/
I'm always surprised by how much people enjoy talking about the cowboy hat.
Wen boots? Wen revolver?
It was a long stressful, really hot af week in argentina. Today is hot but waaaaaaay better so I can take a little nap. Wish you the best Sunday ever, peace for everybody
Howdy!

view on primal.netHi everyone!!! It's a beautiful Sunday and full of sunshine, hope you're enjoying your weekend and have given yourself a nice treat, if not it's not too late for a good one, a big cone of ice cream, a walk through the park, a nice glass of wine enjoying a movie or a book, just make it so it's a treat for you not others, you deserve it my friend because you're amazing ad you're important, don't forget it! As for me, I will head on out to the beach and enjoy a couple of brewskies and see what happens, as always, be well and stay frosty my friend!!
One of my biggest peace of mind hacks is to let people be wrong. It's a lot like "let sleeping dogs lie." Only the dog isn't sleeping it's just so wrong it's irrelevant and might as well be unconscious.
Very true. I also remind myself that people might come around eventually. You don't need to convince them of anything right now.
While it's great to be able to learn through words and example, each of us has been ignorant and forced to learn through cold, hard experience.
Not only peace of mind, but a whole host of things cascade out from that one practice. You find that you're actually able to listen, for one. And paradoxically find that people start giving a shit about your opinion way more than when you really wanted to convince them of it.
Probably a great tip for parenting too. People need to learn their own mistakes.
One of my biggest peace of mind hacks is to mind my own business - control what I can, and don't bother with what I can't. ๐
God, grant me the serenity to mind my own fucking business...
Happy Sunday friends !

What a week partners! Hope you all have a great weekend
it seems many links from @nitter are all down, only https://nitter.cz/ still working.
@ekzyis
Don't bother with Nitter. Everyone should just stop promoting Twitter or privacy frontends for it, and simply use Nostr instead. If your bitcoin "influencer" doesn't have a Nostr profile, then fuck him. The only way to win is not to play.
I don't pay attention to any Bitcoin "influencers", but I do have friends who are still using twitter, and I go there from time to time to see what they post. ๐
Thanks, will update the links. Will include instances which are still available according to https://status.d420.de/
But I don't think it will last: #387390
wow so cool, and what would be the solution if ALL down one day.
Pay off debt or buy the BTC. Thoughts that run through my mind every single day since 2017 ๐
Isn't this very easy ? Keep your debt (at a manageable level) and buy BTC.
CAGR (averaged over 4 years) should easily outpace whatever interest you're paying on your debt.
Yes but sometimes I get the urge to just pay off the debt the annoyance of paying it monthly
Is it just me or do weekends feel shorter than before.
Maybe been just busy and time flies.
Interesting how the Clapham chemical attacker still hasn't been tracked down despite London being the world's surveilance capital.

We live in an area with lots of overgrown natural plants and trees. Some houses are completely obscured from the street. Two years ago we got new next door neighbors. One day we woke up to find that every bit of plant life was cut down along our border with theirs. It was very strange seeing their house for the first time, and uncomfortable. A few weeks later he planted new trees and bushes to make a new border, albeit much lower with less privacy. A month or so later the deer had eaten all the bushes. Lesson: let nature make your barriers. The deer hadn't eaten the old growth in 30 years.
The deer tho ๐
That sounds like the goal!
I once accidentally found out about one poet's house, like wow, so beautifully built ( by himself from what I read ), and literally in the best location, but built in a way that keep the crowds away, I guess that's how you can think and peacefully do your work.
sounds funny! ๐ the new next door neighbor must be quite mad:)? haha
He's a nice guy, but mad, yes. He talks to me at length about the new bush he read about that was "deer resistant. " Landscaping is his hobby. He has actually planted bushes, decided he didn't like them, and ripped them out a month or so later. I have never met anyone like him.
sounds like he can do many fun experiments. ๐
and he can come to share all the tips and tricks to stack sats here.
I talked to him about bitcoin. The conversation didn't get far. He's retired and his ideas about money and investing are narrow and conventional.
curious what retired people normally do? I know some are traveling, some are doing repetitive things and waiting for the kids to come home to see them.
I am really impressed by you and @DarthCoin with many others, still keep learning and sharing; I guess that is what made you stay "young"? like I don't want to be a boring person once I reach certain age, I still want to live life, not waiting to die.
I don't know the answer. I honestly feel like I'm a teenager in my head. I find it hard to believe I'm so old! My body, on the other hand, doesn't always agree.
Let's see how long it'll take for someone to post the link to Darth's Tallis OS article...
Regarding plants and privacy/security, tall shrubs out front might make it difficult for neighbors to see what's going on - burglars prefer not being seen though, so there's a trade-off here.
Spiky plants are great as a deterrent.
Regarding wallet security, you're right about using a simple USB.
I didn't think I'd be writing gardening tips on a Sunday morning, but there you go...
I forgot about the Westworld theme yesterday but will not forget it today!

Btw, how did you get access to the sheet like this? Did you pay for musescore?
I considered paying but their app sucks and I only need the sheets.
I think I am just going to copy the notes I need by hand.
Nope, just utilized plain ol' image search.
It did sound you had having fun playing it!
Yes, I like how it's mostly about rhythm. Will continue to learn this song. Might actually not be that hard :)
these are exactly the things I want to see more in SN! little tips and tricks or good practices for solving real-life problems. ๐
Makes such a difference too when it complements (or better still grows with) the house.
There are plants that may obscure your view but encourage you to stand around, like jasmine plants you can smell from metres away. As @ekzyis would say, private but not secure.
Funnily enough plantingprivacy.com has a nice ring to it and is a cheap domain, someone snapped up plantprivacy in 2021.
haha, indeed :)
I think I read somewhere that good concealment is preferred over good cover but not sure. Couldn't find the source. Maybe someone with more military experience can chime in? ๐
I found this nice chart here though:
https://m.stacker.news/14827
maybe that's why
๐
I mean to me, it sounds quite obvious. If given the choice between not being a target at all and being a well-defended target, I would pick 'not a target at all' every time.
It's not that easy though. I guess there is a sweet spot of concealment and cover. Having no cover at all is probably pretty stressful; negating the effects of your concealment.
I also think this is related to which groups you target. So it's not only about making yourself not a target but also what is your target. Some things act as filters :)
same, leave me alone!
๐ค
many fun things can talk about in the ~security.
the art of selecting planting ๐
N itโs aesthetically pleasing, lowers stress levels, n may even increase oneโs food sufficiency!
yeah - even planting the herbs or veggies that you need, quite a self- sufficient life.

Without breaching anyoneโs privacy I suspect a number of us are either in or frequent visitors to similar time zones.
yes, it's also quite easy to tell based on post/comment time.
but the good thing about being a nomad is that my home is a bit unpredictable, so I might lost this edge one day. ๐ญ
Agreed. And the use of language.
was tough, every day walking in the wild, and no one else here.
