Dear Bitcoin companies/projects:
Stop using telegram and/or discord for tech support and troubleshooting. Nothing sucks more than needing help and your message goes ignored!
I’m a sure people are willing to pay for help to get their stuff operating again
Umbrel node down day#3
Sorry about your Umbrel dude :(
I also dislike that Discord, Telegram, and Twitter are the go-tos for contacting Bitcoin companies and projects. I rarely use them, if ever, because of their invasive practices and dark patterns. So its annoying to have to sign up for a new account or dig out an old one just to ask a question.
I would happily pay a few thousand sats if it means I can get a question answered in a timely fashion via email or a more open, privacy respecting platform like Element.

Some teams are using Matrix, which is great.

What's up with your node? Perhaps we can help.

I can’t access it. I don’t know if it’s a software/network/hardware issue. I updated the software and now I can’t access it

Yes I did the reflash and nothing happened. Since I can’t SSH I am wondering what the next step is

Did you backup your seed phrase and channel db file?
If so the easiest way might perhaps be to simply wipe the device and reinstall. Do you have physical access to the node?

Actually I got some help off plebnet telegram channel. The told me to do a hard power reset since when I connected a monitor nothing no signal was found. After connecting the power thr RPi booted up and umbrel restarted and now I have access. All of my channels are offline. I am wondering did they all close or will it take time for them to come back online. Really crazy how this happened. I’m shocked a power disconnect didn’t kill my node
reply
Usually peers don't close channels if a peer is offline for a couple of days - just takes a few hours :)
