As a JavaScript developer, any suggestions for learning more about Bitcoin eco-system and contributing to the Bitcoin space would be great. I would like to build simple application on Top of Bitcoin/lightning with my JS skills. Any suggestions/recommendations on how to proceed? Thank you.

I highly recommend checking out the following resources:

@rheedio wrote this piece: A Crash Course in Lightning App Development which gives great tips. Linked to in the article is this tutorial: https://docs.lightning.engineering/lapps/guides/polar-lapps. If you're using lnd, I use ln-service to talk to SN's lnd node and would recommend it.
If you have specific questions, I'm sure I or someone else would try to point you in the right direction.

No better way to start the day than a bitcoin price pump... Have a great day y'all...

What price pump? There is no such thing. Bitcoin is always 1/21.000.000

Dear Bitcoin companies/projects:
Stop using telegram and/or discord for tech support and troubleshooting. Nothing sucks more than needing help and your message goes ignored!
I’m a sure people are willing to pay for help to get their stuff operating again
Umbrel node down day#3

Some teams are using Matrix, which is great.

What's up with your node? Perhaps we can help.
reply
I can’t access it. I don’t know if it’s a software/network/hardware issue. I updated the software and now I can’t access it

Yes I did the reflash and nothing happened. Since I can’t SSH I am wondering what the next step is

Did you backup your seed phrase and channel db file?
If so the easiest way might perhaps be to simply wipe the device and reinstall. Do you have physical access to the node?
reply
Actually I got some help off plebnet telegram channel. The told me to do a hard power reset since when I connected a monitor nothing no signal was found. After connecting the power thr RPi booted up and umbrel restarted and now I have access. All of my channels are offline. I am wondering did they all close or will it take time for them to come back online. Really crazy how this happened. I’m shocked a power disconnect didn’t kill my node
reply
Usually peers don't close channels if a peer is offline for a couple of days - just takes a few hours :)
Sorry about your Umbrel dude :(
I also dislike that Discord, Telegram, and Twitter are the go-tos for contacting Bitcoin companies and projects. I rarely use them, if ever, because of their invasive practices and dark patterns. So its annoying to have to sign up for a new account or dig out an old one just to ask a question.
I would happily pay a few thousand sats if it means I can get a question answered in a timely fashion via email or a more open, privacy respecting platform like Element.

With all the craziness in the world, I spent the day today on personal op-sec. I've been going through the guide at 10x Security Bitcoin Guide. I got testnet up and running on my laptop, which I had never done before, and began experimenting with multisig using Specter Desktop. I'm not quite sure the added complexity of multisig is overall better. Anybody implemented a good multisig backup scheme they like and its working for them?
reply
I just use a simple 2 of 3
