My digestion totally changed. Now I have a bowel movement about every 3 or 4 days, and the volume is much lower - maybe a quarter of before.
So overall, about 1/12th the volume. That's a HUGE change. There was an adjustment period, I'd say a couple months. A few bouts of diarrhea. Most people have that. I switched to carnivore more slowly than most people, so it wasn't too bad.
The whole thing about the bowel movements being much smaller - it's actually a big thing that convinces me that carnivore is an excellent way to eat. Because...your body is absorbing almost EVERYTHING you're putting in your mouth.
Whereas if you're eating lots of fruit/veggies/grains, there's so much waste. Your body is rejecting it, because it can't use it.
my bowels were fine. as with any large diet shift there may be a adjustment phase, but I was already doing keto before doing carnivore and didn’t have any problems.
to the positive: meat is very digestible so there’s little waste. that can upset one’s expectations but I was happy for it.
worst legit fear I’ve encountered is related to gut biome diversity and losing tolerance for certain foods (should you go back) but most of that is theoretical afaik
And what of your bowels? How has your poop changed? I like to eat clean but I love veggies. I can't really imagine not eating them. A common meal for me is a huge bowl of ground beef but I'll cook mushrooms and carrots and brocolli with onion and garlic in butter before the beef goes into the pan. I just can't imagine my bowels being happy with only meat.
