Watch out with the chainsaw, a friend of mine already chopped off a toe!
I have many years experience with it. I really enjoy it in the spring. I may buy a new one, bigger. This one is quite small for the wood I have around. And keep this one only for small trees (max 30cm diameter).
You are not cutting wood this time of the year?
Buns are out
What do you mean by 'buns'?
Cheeks
buahahaha nah not like that. But a 45cm blade is enough for I have here. Not going to cut fucking big trees.
I wasn't talking about the chainsaw! ahahah
Exactly! And the cuts are really fast now.
Now I have to sharpen the old chains I put aside, to have them as backup.
I had to take a big limb off an oak tree couple years ago. it was amazing how fast that hard wood dulled the blade. the live oaks here in Texas are no joke.
(this last fall I was trying to split the wood as it was dry, and I learned why people don't split live oak. you just have to chip little chunks off the side.)
yeah the oak is no joke... is a serious wood.
Today I had a fallen birch, quite fat, like 40 cm in diameter and 15m long.
It was already pretty dry, but I started with an old chain, cleaning the branches. So I saw that the sawdust wasn't so big... that is sign that the chain is not sharp.
So I remember I have a spare new chain and change it. Totally awesome.
In 1h the whole tree was cut in pieces and piled up in the storage.
A few years ago, when I worked on a coffee farm in Cesar, Colombia, I had the opportunity to use a chainsaw, and I can say that the feeling of easily and quickly cutting through thick pieces of tree trunks is fantastic.
I enjoyed doing it, even though I ended up covered in sawdust.
Today I've changed the chain of my chainsaw with a new one.
Amazing how much better you cut firewood with a new chain !
