Ahaha, this is great idea, personifying Money, Mr Money as the moderator give now money more authority! Does this become SN new slogan?

The use of western font make sense, it's contextualized, but feels like the extended SN wordmark and modern, clean and minimalistic vibes are missing. Or alternatively I'd add it at the bottom somewhere or simply the SN logo.

If this is advertising, CTA also missing. Perhaps something like this colud make more sense?

I'm sure it's deeper than that? Though this blog post is surprisingly fluffy. Maybe the blog post is written for the marketing people at google.

Today I've changed the chain of my chainsaw with a new one.
Amazing how much better you cut firewood with a new chain !

reply

Consider a chain sharpener next time, it extend chain like 10x (or more)

reply

Watch out with the chainsaw, a friend of mine already chopped off a toe!

reply

I have many years experience with it. I really enjoy it in the spring. I may buy a new one, bigger. This one is quite small for the wood I have around. And keep this one only for small trees (max 30cm diameter).

You are not cutting wood this time of the year?

reply

This one's really good ~lol

but one of those would be perfect!

reply

Buns are out

reply

What do you mean by 'buns'?

reply

Cheeks

reply

buahahaha nah not like that. But a 45cm blade is enough for I have here. Not going to cut fucking big trees.

reply

I wasn't talking about the chainsaw! ahahah

reply

A few years ago, when I worked on a coffee farm in Cesar, Colombia, I had the opportunity to use a chainsaw, and I can say that the feeling of easily and quickly cutting through thick pieces of tree trunks is fantastic.

I enjoyed doing it, even though I ended up covered in sawdust.

reply

Less smoke, more sawdust.

reply

Exactly! And the cuts are really fast now.
Now I have to sharpen the old chains I put aside, to have them as backup.

reply

I had to take a big limb off an oak tree couple years ago. it was amazing how fast that hard wood dulled the blade. the live oaks here in Texas are no joke.

(this last fall I was trying to split the wood as it was dry, and I learned why people don't split live oak. you just have to chip little chunks off the side.)

reply

yeah the oak is no joke... is a serious wood.
Today I had a fallen birch, quite fat, like 40 cm in diameter and 15m long.
It was already pretty dry, but I started with an old chain, cleaning the branches. So I saw that the sawdust wasn't so big... that is sign that the chain is not sharp.
So I remember I have a spare new chain and change it. Totally awesome.
In 1h the whole tree was cut in pieces and piled up in the storage.

I am informing you officially that I re-started the work on the citadel.
Just made a quick trip to inspect the premises and the status of the cabin.
All good, only that the wild boars were playing football with some stuff I had outside, all my tools were spread on the field.
But not important damages.
So my presence on SN will be less and less from now on.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

I was looking up some info about the desktop wallet Bitcoin Safe and trying to see if they supported MuSig2 yet. When i asked Gemini about them, it tried to tell me the wallet was a scam.

This is a pretty bad outcome if you are a wallet. I think they've b
rought it on themselves a little with the name they chose (Bitcoin Safe --the wallet -- is impossible to google).

There's a lesson here: pick a name that is highly unique.

reply
When i asked Gemini about them

LOL are you out of your mind?
Maybe I should make a page like "Ask Darth" 😂😂😂

reply

YES!

reply

There are enough projects in Bitcoin that staying on top of which ones support any given -- especially new -- feature is not trivial.

I frequently will give a chat bot a github link and a website link and ask it for details about whether the project supports a given feature. Usually it's pretty accurate. And in this case it was eventually able to identify it for me.

It would have taken a fair bit longer to scan the website looking for details about whether they support MuSig2 or not.

TBH one of my biggest disillusionments in the Bitcoin space since I've been "active" here myself is how many complain that businesses don't accept bitcoin.

You go and build the business. You even incentivize the usage of bitcoin for payments. Fuck the banks, amirite?

No. Most will still use fiat rails, even if it costs them more 🤦‍♂️

reply
1 sat \ 3 replies \ @ek 27 Mar

Why is your book sold for fiat when you don't want people to buy it with fiat?

Is your book listed on amazon without your permission?

reply

A book sold is a book sold. Not everybody uses bitcoin and I don't want to be a gatekeeper. And neither my book nor The Sovereign Individual are strictly Bitcoin books anyway. But I obviously prefer if sales came directly through my site and paid in BTC. I assume Konsensus has the same stance.
I also spoke with an Estonian author not too long ago, who wrote a book about Bitcoin. He and his podcast co-host / biz partner host their own site where they sell it. The book is also sold in 2 of the largest bookstore chains in Estonia. The chain stores had apparently sold about 100 copies in the first 3 months. Through their own site, there was one order (and that one person was me). Mind you, this is not only about fiat vs BTC as a means of payment, but also about who actually profits - the Estonian bookstores take a 50% cut.
