Beat me to the punch!! Good video showing how Mr. Pegula priced out the working class fan. Sad to see

Tax payer funded stadium always a problem.

I agree 1000% I hated this deal for Buffalo and New York State. That $800M could have been used to revitalize the city.

It’s not just Pegula pricing out the working class fan.
When the bills play in Los Angeles, I always see a lot of bills fans who are nice people. In my experience the nicest opposing fans are the bills and Vikings.
Are the bills still popular in Toronto? I think 25 percent of their season ticket holders live in Canada
reply
Somewhat yeah but not nearly as much when the dollar was weak vs Canadian dollar

Inflation effects
This is happening as well in CFB market. Took my kids to a SEC game last year and ticket prices were $330 each + $350 for single night in Holiday Inn Express near the game. By the time you add in food, gas, etc its a $2000 price tag to go to a game.
Say back in 1980, I feel there is no way that "bringing the kids to a game" represented such a high percentage of average monthly income as it does now? A $2K "game price" probably represents 30% of average monthly income?

You sound like a big college football fan. I hope your kids are grateful football fans.
Did you buy your seats on the secondary market like seat geek or stub hub?

Season tickets are a luxury item. Also do you really need to attend 10 home games per year including preseason? You can also buy single game tickets that are non club level.
Stadium or personal seat licenses can be expensive and appear unreasonable on the surface. License fees are tiered. Section 100 is more expensive than section 300.

That's really sad to see. It sucks that so many loyal fans are going to be priced out. Especially existing season ticket holders not getting any break on the price increase. I'd hope for some kind of grandfathered-in pricing model for existing holders.

I saw a similar headline for the World Cup next year: most loyal fans will be priced out.
I don’t agree but let’s pretend this is true. What is a more fair alternative besides price controls? A stadium has 66000 seats. How many fans does a team have? 1 million?
I am a season ticket holder in Los Angeles. I went to one game last year. Sold all the other seats on seat geek or Ticketmaster. Only reason I went to Packers at Rams last year is that my friend had field level seats and complimentary.
I forgot to mention I am a chargers season ticket holder and the only home game I attended was the Rams.
Btw the best stadium experience is the soccer stadium in Carson formerly known as stub hub stadium. No bad seat and the best stadium food: artisanal and independent vendors including funnel cake
