Welp stackers we are about 30 days out from the start of The Atlanta Bitcoin Conference #7 (TABCONF #7) at Georgia Tech!
I went to TABCONF #6 and had a blast so this year I decided to host an SN event and hopefully make this a yearly event along side this conference till my death!
My idea was accepted on GitHub
So far we have floor space (which I hope comes with a table) and pod equipment provided by @Car.
I don’t have anything planned at the moment but here is what I plan to bring.
- Merch from @AGORA
- All the zines from @plebpoet
- I ordered some blank satscards (yes from that NVK who hates on SN) to help stackers give out sats if they so wish. If not I plan on thinking of something cool like drawing SN designs and giving them away
I have some other ideas like making some business cards that link to Stacker News and to my territories but I haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet.
But stackers feel free to jump in the comments and help plan this event. The overall goal is to have fun celebrating SN and increase awareness about this great site we all cherish! Hope to see you all in Atlanta!
What about a salsa bar?
Uncharacteristically, I will be at Tabconf. I'd be happy to make said salsa bar happen if it sounds like a good idea. (also happy to help out in general).
Additionally, I've been working on a special prize for stackers who get to a 365-day streak with their cowboy hat. Maybe tabconf would be a good place to reveal it (seeing as you are one of the few over the 1 year mark).
I think we should make the SNL for that week be a version of First We feast.
For each post @Car and @k00b cover the salsa gets progressively spicier.

I booked my travel finally. @Scoresby has a bunch of ideas about games we can do at the table. One might include a game built-in to the site. We shall see!
Would be interesting to have IRL @chess tournament reflected in SN ~gaming, each game a new post. Could the board somehow give inputs via API? I doubt people will go there to play chess and maybe too complex for such short notice... just an idea

Will be a great time! Either way will figure it out on the fly. Will also be selling the SNL DVD as well at the table.
Internet might be spotty as well, so if anyone has a mobile hotspot for streaming definitely bring it we could use it. If not we can always record and upload later like we did for the crypto conference in Nashville.

Had a Nostrich-discounted ticket for TC6 last year that I couldn't either utilize nor transfer to anyone else that could go (should have made the offer here rather than Nostr, I guess), and I've been somewhat bitter about that fact since I know with absolute certainty I'll never be able to attend without spending $800+ on just room, board and ticketing cost alone.
Nonetheless, I hope this year's conference is even better than the bits of last year's I saw.

ALSO - my friends and I host an event called NOTNFTNYC to counter the official NFTNYC event every year.
We have sold out Theaters and one of the rooms inside the World Trade Center. This year we gave away a ton of sats, gold bars, and play stations.

I went to a meeting last week at PubKey in NYC where the CEO was speaking, and they were giving away $25 BTC gift cards.
