Yeah, that's a common issue with buttons. Should they show the current state or the state you'll be in once you click? Ours show the state after click, so that's why it looks disabled when it's enabled, lol.

I just realized that a good way to test this is a light/dark mode. You instantly see the logic.
But my original comment was about the look of the icon itself — for me it’s rather associated with enabling/disabling comments than with “do not disturb while I’m composing” mode, or what @optimism (very precisely in my opinion) described as “zen mode”.

Yeah, I agree, maybe there's a better icon. We use remixicon for our icons. Is in there an icon that stands out to you for this use case?

The only one I could think of was maybe loop-right-line, but to be honest that's probably confusing too.
The icon pack didn't return anything on my keyword search stfu. lol.

The button disables live updates to comments globally, not only when composing! Is there a need for an option that disables live comments only when composing?
About the state, maybe flipping the logic can be more intuitive.
