I figured out that my ankle issue was most likely some inflamed tendon. I imagine the new pressures of barefoot walking and high summer heat triggered it. It was only intermittently hobbling me today, but the cold shower seemed to tamp it down.
How are your ~HealthAndFitness practices going?
glad to hear the ankle is improving! i took a rest from the gym but cycled to work as always. finally finished off the strawberry cheesecake leftover from the weekend, so tomorrow i plan to turn over a new leaf and eat less junk.
Less junk was also part of my anti inflammation plan.
You’re reminding me that @gnilma never told us how long his giant assorted cheesecake lasted.
I don't remember exactly, but I think I finished it in about two weeks. It's not that giant, just relatively big, big enough to last two weeks. I couldn't resist my sugar addiction and bough a medium sized chunk of tiramisu. I've been working on that and need to finish it before I go on my trip in a few days.

11k steps. Played a pretty serious game of pop or dodge which is a game my daughter made up where you have to declare if you will be popping or dodging the myriad of bubbles she will be sending your way with her bubble wand. Apparently I was the bubble ninja so I guess I did well.
Ate Chinese take out for dinner. That’s healthy right?
Those random games kids make up can be great exercise
Good that you figured out what was wrong with the ankle. Best to heal it properly before stressing it again.
I brought my cousin hiking this morning. He's from Toronto and is visiting BC for the third time in two years. He usually stays at my house when he visits and he asked me to bring him hiking. Because his flight was also at today afternoon, and because he said he wanted to do something challenging, I brought him to the Grouse Grind #599888. Guy was in better shape than I thought. I expected him to take 90 minutes to finish the hike, but he did it in 63 minutes. Saved me some time and allowed me to get back to work earlier.
