Hey everybody,
I started writing about Bitcoin in 2014 with TechCrunch and VentureBeat. Since then, I’ve covered a ton of events related to Bitcoin - from getting Andy Yen from Proton and Garry Kasparov on the record as Bitcoin supporters, interviewing Julian Assange’s half-brother about some of the history of Bitcoin and WikiLeaks to doing on-the-ground research on Bitcoin usage during the Hong Kong protests. I maintain a long-time perch at Forbes, and have written about Nostr and Bitcoin extensively there. I’ve also written for Hong Kong Free Press, the Toronto Star, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, the Next Web and others.
I wrote the book “Would Mao Hold Bitcoin” as a passion project combining my research on China and Bitcoin. I actually have had a career in digital marketing/growth and helped two companies become unicorns as the initial marketing hire. I now work at Block Rewards, the world’s leading Bitcoin-only compensation/payroll company.
Some fun facts about me:
1- I can speak, to varying degrees, English, French, Mandarin and Spanish
2- I’m somehow a Clubhouse admin of the Bitcoin club, the largest English-language China club and the cybersecurity club…not so useful these days :(
3- I’m a huge fan of the Houston Rockets, and used to play fantasy sports extensively
4- I collect rare books/manuscripts on dissent
5- I’ve spent significant amounts of time/lived in Shanghai, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco, Vancouver and…Toledo, Ohio.
Here to answer your questions until the voices stop in my head!
