Sorry, meant to post it from this account :)
It's going to be much higher than that. :)
https://insightfulbits.com/ come join us. We're doing beta testing in about 6 weeks.
I'd guess the average would be the equivalent of $1 for 45-60 seconds. Some startups might try campaigns that pay less, some companies seeking to make a strong impression might pay more. Time will tell what price is most effective and the market will likely gravitate towards that on average.
Haha. DNA sequencing and KYC/AML not happening. Just basic profile so advertisers understand the makeup of the audience they're reaching.
Users can decide what amount of information they are comfortable sharing. It's mostly to avoid all the respondents being from a country that doesn't fit the advertiser's needs. So location is one thing, income or occupation could be another, linking a social media account to show it's a real person, things like that. Not address or KYC type stuff. And people decide on the amount they're willing to share and advertisers choose what criteria their audience needs to have.
Open to a variety of paths, including SN integration. Main goal is to show that a value for value trade based on Bitcoin can lead to better results for advertisers and positive experience for the audience. If we can show that model works better than legacy model of tracking and unsolicited ads, Bitcoin can help underpin a new approach to digital advertising. A lofty goal but worth trying.
All questions are welcome. We're mindful of Bitcoiners feelings on privacy. I used to work in advertising and I grew disenchanted because of the tracking. Everything we do will be opt-in. People will decide how much data they want to share in their profile and they'll pick which ad experiences they want to engage with based on the reward, the brand, and estimated time. TLDR No tracking.
Phase 1 is hosted on our web app at Insightful Bits. Down the road we hope infrastructure will allow for use in a more decentralized way. But at the outset our web app is the platform.
I'd like to attempt to achieve both, interactive advertising experiences where users are clicking a few options that provide feedback to the marketer, and also longer form experiences/surveys/studies. Both will provide feedback that will bring insights to the marketer. The difference being that shorter form experiences might be more visual and could try to convert the sale. The longer form could also try to convert but collect more data during the process.
So I'm starting with the intent to blend both options into one place. I think it can be done. But if I'm wrong I'll adjust and focus on where the best traction is.
I spent more than a decade running a digital ad agency so I'm relatively familiar with what advertisers are willing to spend to connect with the audience. Instead of paying ad serving platforms this will redirect those funds to the audience, which in turn will make them more engaged and attract higher value participants.
I've also attended marketing studies where I was paid $150 for 90 minutes of my time. Are there low cost sites offering bargain basement prices? Sure. But this is intended to be a higher quality platform. Think of SurveyMonkey. The least I've paid there per person is $1 to answer a short survey.
I hope you and everyone else who's curious about this will join the waitlist and stay tuned. I'll welcome community feedback throughout the process to make sure it's being built in a way that appeals to a large percentage of Bitcoiners.
Ultimate plan is to get this platform and a large audience off the ground, and then later when infrastructure better supports a decentralized model it can pivot. In the same way Netflix had to build up while waiting for broadband infrastructure. We're on Nostr but the UX there isn't good enough for advertisers right now.
Because the client would not have to pay the ad serving fees since it's running on our platform. Instead the cost is passed along to the audience. (plus house takes a commission paid by client)
