We're building Insightful Bits, a platform where advertisers reward the audience with Bitcoin for engagement with survey/ad experiences. It could mean watching a video and answering a few questions, or answering which products you like and why, or any other mix of advertising and audience feedback.
There will likely be a range of reward levels based on estimated time to complete, who the advertiser is, target audience, etc.
But I'd love to get some community feedback about what would be worth YOUR time for 45-60 seconds.
Also, we welcome all Bitcoiners who want more ways to stack sats to join us. We're launching the beta testing phase in 6 weeks. https://insightfulbits.com/
Thanks!

What platform are we talking about?
I think it'd depend on where the video or ad is posted...
reply
Phase 1 is hosted on our web app at Insightful Bits. Down the road we hope infrastructure will allow for use in a more decentralized way. But at the outset our web app is the platform.

Just visited your website and it doesn't look like you've started yet.
How many trackers will be used (there doesn't seem to be any yet - but it seems not to have launched, so I can't tell)?
(Not trying to put you off, it does sound like an interesting idea - just many Stackers are very privacy conscious - it's good to have the full picture first, before you can tweak and be certain of your business model).
reply
All questions are welcome. We're mindful of Bitcoiners feelings on privacy. I used to work in advertising and I grew disenchanted because of the tracking. Everything we do will be opt-in. People will decide how much data they want to share in their profile and they'll pick which ad experiences they want to engage with based on the reward, the brand, and estimated time. TLDR No tracking.

Thanks, that's good to hear 🧡
K00b's 10k sounds like a good number, I'll join him on that.

If it was fully implemented within SN I'm sure you'd have a ridiculous amount of interest.
Might you do this in the future, or just post links here to your website?
reply
Open to a variety of paths, including SN integration. Main goal is to show that a value for value trade based on Bitcoin can lead to better results for advertisers and positive experience for the audience. If we can show that model works better than legacy model of tracking and unsolicited ads, Bitcoin can help underpin a new approach to digital advertising. A lofty goal but worth trying.

A lofty goal but worth trying.
Indeed, I like where you're coming from.
I'd imagine that your opt-in customer profiling model would have to limit the amount of videos available to those who've opted-out.
(For example, an advertiser wouldn't want to promote a stair lift to many teenagers.)
I really like your idea though.
Best of luck!

In the promotional video it says users will create an account.
What information will bee needed to create an account?
I would want more Sats if I need to hand over information. For me I would need ~ 50,000 sats to find if valuable to hand over information.
I would recommend doing a one time token (like robosats).
Token would gain sats as they responded to ads but the user could withdraw sats and spin open a new token when they needed to.
For the Token option I might do it for as low as 1,000 Sats

Users can decide what amount of information they are comfortable sharing. It's mostly to avoid all the respondents being from a country that doesn't fit the advertiser's needs. So location is one thing, income or occupation could be another, linking a social media account to show it's a real person, things like that. Not address or KYC type stuff. And people decide on the amount they're willing to share and advertisers choose what criteria their audience needs to have.
reply
Can I login via lightning just watch ads and get sats or do you need to sequence my DNA?
reply
Haha. DNA sequencing and KYC/AML not happening. Just basic profile so advertisers understand the makeup of the audience they're reaching.

Gotcha.

If they'd share the results with me, I'd even be down for that; free DNA sequencing for me! /S.

Interesting idea! Me personally a reward between 5-10 sats for a 45-60 seconds engagement (normal engagement, not visiting 18+ websites, not promoting, not selling something, etc) it will be enough.
Btw...please share with us when the website will be available to stack sats! ;)
reply
It's going to be much higher than that. :)

Take the median $ / € rewards of other apps that offer the same and bump it up ever-so-slightly.

whatever amount as far as it is value adding
reply
I listen to an hour podcasts and get for this time 60-1000 sats. At the moment it's almost zero, if you understand Bitcoin it's infinity

YouTube unskippable 15 second ads usually command a CPM of $20. So if the video inventory is good with high levels of video completion and engagement as you mention then you could demand at least $50 I’d say.
reply
Bare minimum I would expect at least 1 sat per second. Thought I would hope for a lot more than that.
reply
I'd guess the average would be the equivalent of $1 for 45-60 seconds. Some startups might try campaigns that pay less, some companies seeking to make a strong impression might pay more. Time will tell what price is most effective and the market will likely gravitate towards that on average.
