The same or a very similar service is also available for free from Cloudflare. It is supposedly even faster than Google's DNS service (4.4.4.4 and 8.8.8.8). Cloudflare claims: "the Internet's fastest, privacy-first public DNS resolver".
You can either use Cloudflare's app (Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows, and Linux):
- See https://1.1.1.1
Or ignore the app and just set your DNS as usual (Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows, Linux):
- See https://blog.cloudflare.com/introducing-1-1-1-1-for-families
- there are 3 flavors:
- 1.1.1.1 (no filtering)
- 1.1.1.2 (filter out Malware)
- 1.1.1.3 (filter out Malware and Adult Content)
The full DNS config options are:
Malware Blocking Only
Primary DNS: 1.1.1.2
Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.2
Malware and Adult Content
Primary DNS: 1.1.1.3
Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.3
For IPv6 use:
Malware Blocking Only
Primary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1112
Secondary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1002
Malware and Adult Content
Primary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1113
Secondary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1003
And yes it works. I would recommend to ignore the app and just set your DNS manually. The app is for people who do not know how to set a DNS address. If you want to read even more read: https://blog.cloudflare.com/announcing-the-results-of-the-1-1-1-1-public-dns-resolver-privacy-examination/
Let's make a drug analogy:
-
Start using it. ==> Start using some drugs, see how it feels.
-
Talk to devs from the ordinals ecosystem ==> Talk to your local drug dealers, the cartel and the coca farmers in Columbia. See how they feel.
-
Compete [...with a better protocol...] ==> Set up a drug distribution infrastructure yourself that is more efficient, uses less CO2, and has an AI-optimized delivery route.
-
Wait. ==> Accept it as is and be okay with it. Don't comment on it, don't teach your kids the dangers of it.
Is that the way to go? No, that's not the way to go. We need to point it out for what it is: a distraction, a pump-and-dump scheme, and we need to tell our friends and family to stay away from Ordinals.
Correct, we must not idolize him. He will make mistakes, he will have some poor or even bad, evil policies; but the hope is that on the average he makes more positive policies than negative ones. And that overall the people of Argentina are better off by the end of the year 2024 and then each year thereafter.
Regarding KYC: doesn't smell good. But so far it is an option. One may chose to declare stack in order to benefit from lower taxes. If it remains on option, it is the choice of the individual. But is sounds like a slippery slope ... One needs to be vigilante.
But for the time being: all the power and hopes to him!
I am only 1 day into the "game". So far so good. Yes, I think there is a higher percentage of quality content here than elsewhere. So, let's party here.
Regarding 1: That seems a bit strong. I think "Don’t invite friends home without informing her" would be better than having to ask for permission. The home belongs to both of you. It is important to maintain friendships as much as possible in a relationship. And you certainly do not need her permission for that. And inviting friends over should be a natural thing. It might help to give an advanced warning so she can plan accordingly if need be, something like "I'd like to have my friend XYZ come over Thursday evening."
Regarding 2: I think it is also important to share. To share especially with your kids. You are sharing the food, why not also share occasionally the rice bowl? It might be seen as forming a tie, if both parent and kids like to do that. I see little harm if it is voluntary on both parts. Each one has his "holy" item. To some it is his/her car, that nobody is allowed to touch, etc. I believe the more we can share in the family and friend circle the better. The smaller the circle the more we should share. In the circle of 2, you and your partner, you should share a vast amount of things. In the circle of 4, you, your partner and your 2 kids, you should share many things. The bigger the circle the less we share usually.
Regarding 3 and 4: seems reasonable to me.
All of that just my humble opinion, nothing more.

NewPipe is excellent. Go and use it.
-
SkyTube is an outstanding alternative to NewPipe.
-
I can recommend both.
-
You can find both apps on F-Droid:
-
Biggest 2 benefits: a) removes ads, b) download and watch YouTube offline
CBDCs will be slowly rolling out in some countries.
Quarter by quarter the number of countries that have
a) CBDC regulation (laws but no tech)
b) CBDC pilots or
c) full CBDC rollout
will slowly increase.
The EU as a whole will have a centralized CBDC regulation/laws by Q4.
There will be individual EU countries with CBDC pilots at city-level by Q4.
There will be at least one African country trying and failing at a CDBC roll-out, sort of following the failed footsteps of Nigeria.
people really are friendly here,
You just created a new word here. "wecome"! Maybe it sticks just like "hodl". I like the typo.
Would I buy an inscription: No
Would I recommend Inscriptions to a friend: No
Are Inscriptions good for Bitcoin: No, they are a temporary nuisance.
Can Inscriptions be a long term investment or saving strategy: No
They are a short term pump and dump scheme, making a few people rich and a lot of people a bit poorer.
