The same or a very similar service is also available for free from Cloudflare. It is supposedly even faster than Google's DNS service (4.4.4.4 and 8.8.8.8). Cloudflare claims: "the Internet's fastest, privacy-first public DNS resolver".

You can either use Cloudflare's app (Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows, and Linux):

Or ignore the app and just set your DNS as usual (Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows, Linux):

• there are 3 flavors:
  • 1.1.1.1 (no filtering)
  • 1.1.1.2 (filter out Malware)
  • 1.1.1.3 (filter out Malware and Adult Content)

Primary DNS: 1.1.1.2
Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.2

Malware and Adult Content
Primary DNS: 1.1.1.3
Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.3

For IPv6 use:

Malware Blocking Only
Primary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1112
Secondary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1002

Malware and Adult Content
Primary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1113
Secondary DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1003

If you are NOT using any Mullvad service, you can still block incoming content.

I was sceptical about this, but it seems to be true. From the page you linked:
