Ok, I just started playing with it… it’s pretty sweet. So far, the free version seems at least as good as the $20/mo ChatGPT version…
There’s some stuff on X about it. Saying it’s much cheaper than ChatGPT, and also much less censored/lobotamized.
I’m going to have to agree: we’ll have to wait and see.
Of course, a tether or another stabletoken (or PBDC), with full capture, would be just as bad as a CBDC.
Also, as an EO, the next president can just reverse it
Here's the recent history:
December 31: FinCEN Asks SCOTUS for Stay
I don't have a problem with any of the activities apart from paying for a hit on someone. It's hard to know whether that's real without spending more time digging into this than I want to.
I know you don't want to spend time digging, but this is what I have learned in digging:
- Ross was charged, but never tried or convicted of the contract murder charge.
- The charge was dismissed with prejudice.
- The primary source of evidence against Ross on the contract killing charge were the two federal agents who later were discovered to have stolen millions in bitcoin from Silk Road. Those agents were tried and convicted of this theft and are serving time.
- The Silk Road member who was allegedly targeted by Ross does not believe it happened, or that if it did, Ross didn't do it.
For me, point #3 is sufficiently compelling to doubt it was real.
Wow, that was amazing. I was in the room for that, and had the advantage of seeing the body language & facial expressions.
Custodia’s attorney was masterful, and made the Fed’s attorneys look unprepared—especially the first one.
The “pound sand” line was great, as was the fact that Judge Rossman picked up on the Fed changing the rules on Custodia while their application was in process.
There was a ton of technical discussion on mandamus, which was not really necessary since the parties basically agreed on those points.
Overall, it seemed more positive for Custodia than the Fed.
Of course. Vassels, citizens, and serfs all exist at the pleasure of a sovereign.
But other sovereigns exist at the sufferance of other sovereigns.
Meaning that two sovereigns only exist to the extent that there is no reason or ability for one to subsume the other.
At this point, it is potentially reasonable to say that the only true sovereigns on Earth are the nuclear armed nations, as they are the only ones that potentially can absolutely resist the other nuclear sovereigns (through MAD).
If you’re not armed with nuclear weapons, then you only exist at the pleasure of one or more nuclear sovereigns, so you’re merely a vessel.
Ukraine, for instance, is only really able to resist Russia because Russia cannot bring nuclear might to bear, since different nuclear sovereigns would be annoyed. So, practically, Ukraine only now exists at the pleasure of the USA.
Maybe we just offer Alberta & Saskatchewan statehood, but annex the rest like a semi-autonomous overseas territory-no federal representation.
We only really need Alberta & Saskatchewan. Maybe the Yukon, Northwest Territories & Nunavut. Manitoba is marginal. Ontario & BC would be seriously bad for population & politics. Definitely don’t want Quebec, Newfoundland & Labrador, and the rest of the Atlantic provinces — this last group would be an economic disaster.
Update: the video has been restored.
Update: with help from YouTube, the video is now restored: https://youtu.be/bBC-nXj3Ng4I was personally never too worried. I'm fortunate enough to have a large audience and contacts within YouTube. However, it remains noteworthy to me that bots can do this, especially on behalf of those who lack easy access to recourse.
Am I missing something? Trudeau prorogued the parliament for 3 months… then resigned pending a replacement. But they’re forced out of session by the prorogue, so did he just give himself 3 months as an unaccountable, lame duck, dictator?
The cause of the takedown says it was a false positive:
Hello! This was a false positive in our systems at @ChainPatrol. We are retracting the takedown request, and will conduct a full post-mortem to ensure this does not happen again. We have been combatting a huge volume of fake YouTube videos that are attempting to steal user funds. Unfortunately, in our mission to protect users from scams, false positives (very) occasionally slip through. We are actively working to reduce how often this happens, because it's never our intent to flag legitimate videos. We're very sorry about this! Will keep you posted on the takedown retraction.
But…
Using copyright and the DMCA for these takedowns, unless there’s a legitimate copyright violation, opens you up to civil liability & attorneys fees, under 512(f).
Though an actual scammer may not wish to use 512(f), false positives like these are extremely risky…
I set myself a goal of 90 books for 2024, hit 103. I count audiobooks, and I listen at 2.5-3x.
It was >75% fiction. But I did go through Broken Money, The Fourth Turning & Fourth Turning is here, and In Defense of the Second Amendment, among others.
Alternatively, when the population voluntarily adopts a CBDC:
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.”
Well, an annoying update, but FinCEN has asked for a stay of the CTA injunction from the Supreme Court.
